Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

It's November. We're one win off 12th and not even in the relegation zone, we have a transfer window coming up and, despite how it looks, we have a squad which has much more quality than any other in the bottom 10.

The situation is not as desperate as it seems if you step back and look at it logically. We just need a manager in who sends the right message out to the club and the league; a plan basically. That doesn't have to be Sam Allardyce; if it was, say, Fonseca, you get the same effect. We don't have to stamp "we're mediocre and have no morals" across our entire club by panicking into hiring an actual crook.

We ARE mediocre and have been for a very long time.
I’m not sure who you think we are but we’re certainly not a top club.
Some fans like you live in a dreamland thinking we’re something we’re not.
Yes we are in a relegation scrap, just got tonked 4-1 by a team that can’t score and but for a missed penalty we’d be in the bottom 3 now.
Get real please

Mate Newcastle with a worse squad than ours in a relegation fight far worse off position wise than we are, went and hired a 2 time CL winning manager, other clubs have hired managers who aren't sam alalrdyce when in terrible positions and survived also.

WHY do you think ONLY sam allardcyce is the choice?

Hahaha, whenever Benitez was suggested for us in the past everyone was all NAHHH EEZ A WESHITE WE AV MORE CLASS DAN DAT.

Proper, proper deluded fans us. We're not some "special" club. If social media was around when we appointed Moyes he'd have been absolutely hounded from the start.

All of that.

???? That can't be a real thing you've just typed there. We haven't played well in any game this season, our entire back 4 wouldn't get a game for any other club in the league, we replaced a 25 goal striker with a fat arl piss head and now rely on Oumar Niasse for goals. Deluded severely if you think we're better than our league position suggests.

Is the squad hugely unbalanced - yup

Players we have returnign within the next month, Bolassie - provides pace we lack and width, Coleman - provides us with leadership and one of the best fullbacks in the country, Barkley, provides us with pace and someone who can drive at players, Mori - HE ISNT as bad as the other cb's

throw in even a half decent cf and a competent lb and cb in January and a massive amount of managers would be able to keep us up - and without doing long term damage to not only the rep but the health nof the club

Nah we don't. We have the worst (caretaker) manager, worst system and worst form in the league. Any half wise manager gets this time 12-14th at worst.

Of course we do, Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams get games for us and it's 2017! We signed Cuco Martina who now has to play left back because our only one is injured.

Get.

Real.

Individually, most if not all of our team would walk into any of the bottom eight to ten sides in this league, with most being automatic starters and star players.

It's a form issue and a lack of balance; not quality. The squad lacks direction and confidence, but could click into life at any point - looking at the fixtures coming up we could easily suddenly win four of the next five and be wondering what the hell the panic was about.

That's not delusion; it's fact. It's a talented squad but a horribly deflated team lacking any sense of cohesion.

Who cares about that?

Talking about the here and now, do you honestly believe that the one manager we can attract who can keep us up this season is Sam Allarcye - yes or no mate?

We are having Big Sam as our manager because its what we deserve and need to bring our aspirations back to being grounded

Last summer was the start of the transformation that has made the football gods punish us. You all remember last summer " Billionaires lad, we will buy anyone "
All the people praising Steve Walsh as the best DOF " He discovered Zola and Drogba, yeah lad "

Acting like the Chelsea fans when they came after Stones " Yes, that ( random player ) needs to put in a transfer request to force a move here "

The ignorance of Rom's and Roscoe's talent " Yeah, the stats say even without Rom's goals we would have still finished 7th lad "

The praise of Unsworth and offering him the job straight away due to his first press conference " Yeah lad, he gets us and won the under 23's. Just give him the job you could see the passion in that conference "

If you want someone to blame for the arrival of Sam, take a look in the mirror.
I could never get my head around this bit in the summer. Ridiculous stat.

We fully deserve this situation. We’re lucky someone like Sam Allardyce is still available in all honesty. If I was him I’d be adding 25% on to whatever sums of money were discussed weeks ago for taking the piss out of him and then crawling back with our tail between our legs.

I'm starting to come round to the idea: this is the biggest job of his career (including England) and we are clearly still a huge draw to pull him out of retirement.

He's not going go mess it up and will be on best behaviour. The brown envelopes will be a thing of the past - he's going to be getting enough of our lovely Iranian's money!

In Sam We Trust

That is delusion I'm afraid mate. We have the single worst set of defenders in the whole league, they don't have a set of legs between them. Not a chance we finish above 15th with THIS squad.

we've conceded 28 goals in the league mate. no team has conceded that many at this stage of the season and not been relegated. our last 8 games include defeats to the tune of 2-5, 1-5, 0-3 and 1-4.

And yet we're not even in the relegation zone - what does that tell you?

We're conceded eight goals in the last three games and still took four points - that's how bad this league is; you have to almost try to get relegated if you're an established club.

It's not panic stations yet. It really isn't. It's bad - really, really bad - but there's a lot of managers who would salvage this situation with ease who aren't crooks and would destroy the clubs reputation by stepping through the door.

....it’s fine saying we’re one win off 12th if we have the capability of winning games but we don’t.

Michael Keane was linked with United six months ago ffs. Coleman is on his way back, Bolasie - for all his faults - adds pace of sorts when he returns.

We have the worst players in terms of form - that's all. They are all individually proven to be better than what they currently are showing.
