It’s not always ideal assembling a squad of players that are labelled versatile. If you are an absolutely banging terrifying indispensable winger, you probably don’t play a couple of dozen games central and vice versa. It’s not unheard of, and our lack of squad depth demands it, but the majority will just be “decent”.
If we have to do it for another window, fair enough. But our next level is to buy wingers that are wingers, and attacking mids that can’t also play just as well in front of the defence.

We definitely can’t be spending that sort of money. The only glimmer of hope is that he didn’t start much for Milan last season so it’s possible the interest is real but the asking price has been greatly exaggerated.
Almost certainly waffle though.

He’s contending with Pulisic and Leao for the starting places. Pulisic had a very successful first season production wise and Leao is just a really good player even if it was a down year for him. Tough ask. He’s the profile we need.

We are skint. We have to make a very small amount of money go a long way. Unless they allow an initial loan or are happy with something like a £5m down-payment, it will never happen. Not without significant outgoings.
