Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

This bit isnt true is it?

Come on now, lets not be silly.

Richarlison was 60m, 50m base fee and 10m add-ons, that we can assume he hasnt yet reached.
Sky sports and the guardian both said £25.75/26m for Beto. BBC said up to £30m. Telegraph and mirror also reported £26m.

Chermiti - daily mail £15m, guardian £12.5 with £2.5m add ons, bbc £15m

Maupay - bbc and daily mail both say £15m. Can’t see any other figures as others are all undisclosed.
Right so its sky and BBC, two sources we all ridicule for their inaccuracy and bias, except when it is suitable to the purpose. Everton are legally required to post all purchases and sales in their accounts, just not on an individual player basis, so we can tell what the fees actually came out 1-2 years later.

For example, if you take transfermarkt numbers(despite their shortcomings) for our sales they add up exactly, If you take BBCs, they are off by a good bit. Great recent example: "https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/61774964". Transfermarkt lists it for 50m, and at least Sky(Sky Richarlison Sale) has the honesty to say its 50m as well, with maybe up to 10m in add-ons. Everton's 21/22 accounts reveal it was almost exactly 50m, for 67.7 in total player trading profit.

Chermiti is another good example:
12.5m euros from Tier 1 source: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/4767774/2023/08/11/everton-youssef-chermiti-transfer/
12m pounds from Tier 1 source: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ton-as-they-close-in-on-youssef-chermiti-deal
Sky and BBC, the worse sources, just say 15m, at best just exaggerating and including all add-ons. Transfermarkt obviously closer to correct here.

Beto another good example
21.5m pounds from Tier 1 source: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/4814757/2023/08/29/everton-beto-udinese-transfer/
We also know from Fab that our initial total package, fee + add-ons was 21.5m pounds, and then we upped fee + add-ons by another 4.5m and sealed the deal.
You have the less reliable sources quoting the entire potential amount, and then you have the BBC which has lost the plot and just translated euros as pounds in lazy journalism. Transfermarkt again closer to correct.

Maupay, very few if any sources as it all says undisclosed. I had seen 12m a lot at the time, I have no doubt it was something around that plus add-ons that he shockingly never earned.

And yes, I DID cross check verses the accounts, its not that hard to do as its all public. Further, lets get into those salary numbers posted here.... If anyone wants to propose their total salary is above 7.5m a season Id be interested to see where that comes from.

Everton have signed Udinese striker Beto on a four-year contract.

The Athletic reported on Sunday that the Premier League side had made positive progress in their bid to sign the 25-year-old, who will cost €25million (£21.5m, $27m) plus €5m in potential add-ons with no payment due until the next financial year.

25m Euros, plus 5m add ons makes 30m Euros.

30m Euros is 25m English Pounds.

So we just ignore add ons as if they don’t exist?

Yeah, people tend to do that a lot.

They imagine that clubs put trophies in them and assume that cos we dont win trophies they can be ignored.

Its crazy.
This does my head in. Businesses worth this much money aren’t stupid nobody is putting add ons on our deals that relate to winning trophies or the player winning individual awards but that’s what people always seem to think.

Remember people used to go on about how Dele would only cost us £40m if we won the Champions League so it would be worth it. Nah he would probably have cost us £40m if he’d played 50 games and scored 5 goals.
