We wouldn't even necessarily need a right back if only Patterson was developed properly, although his recent injury record has been a concern..

We could've then had him, Coleman & Dixon for the RB spots and Myko & Young for LB. Garner can also fill in a full back at the absolute least.

There is a reason that Patterson has not been in the team, the management team clearly do not trust him.
Yet, last season they had no problem playing a younger Branthwaite at centre back so it clearly is not an age issue.
Not every player is good enough to play premiership football.

McTominay would walk into this team. People look down on him because he’s not some exciting foreign name . He can win tackles and score goals, also has a bit of needle to him.

But United would want 30m, that we don't have.

Think McTominay would be a great signing but don’t think United would sell to us because we won’t sell Branthwaite. If United came in with 60 mil plus McTominay, think we accept that all day for Branthwaite.
