Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Why? They are a different case to Everton. The panel didn't decide Forest's punishment based on ours.

That is a reason to rightly complain about FFP sanctions. As they are therefore inconsistent and one club can be unfairly punished compared to another for what seems similar or lesser offenses.
Ask Forest mate.

Because Forest held onto Brennen Johnson for 2 months as to not accept a cut price deal .Thus putting them over the threshold.

It didn't wash mate.

Its as Thelwell said, players will be sold, but only if OUR valuations are met and only if the players are happy with the move.

Just because there's interest in any of our players, does not give the PL the right to demand we sell. If the ducks align, we sell. If not, we don't.

If our valuations are only met in July or August, then that's when we sell. That's not cheating, that's just good business. We shouldn't be held to ransom just because some of the big 6 want our star assets.

tbf this is just a similar argument to the others. It isn't about being held ransom to the Premier league.

Remember Everton agreed with two thirds of other other clubs to introduce these rules in the first place. And if Everton's transfer policies and recruitment led to a 92% wage to revenue ratio and us under pressure to sell before deadlines then that is Everton's fault not the leagues.

If Everton are in a position were we don't have to sell before 30th June then they won't, simple as that really. But the release from Kevin suggested otherwise and the known state of our finances and public lending from 777.

It isn't also about the FFP it could also be the position if we don't sell Everton would have to enter administration and occur and automatic 9 point deduction next season.

Lets not pretend the club is not in trouble and leave pride out of it. It could be survivor of the club at risk here.

Thelwell will be trudging through the wolves reserves trying to find a signing. Clueless

Don't forget that since 30th of June last year, we have sold Kean, Iwobi, Gray, Cannon, Simms and Nkounkou. That's generated a fair chunk of money, which will be accounted for in this seasons books. I know the media are driving this "Everton have to sell or enter administration" crap, but that's simply not going to happen.

However, our losses for PSR purposes were only a fraction of those losses.

This is the thing, there may or may not be two needs for cash:

1) Income to meet PSR requirements.

2) Income to meet cashflow - the ability to pay LOR, Wages, Spend, operate.

They are two very different things.

As lads point out above, if we loose as a business - 89 mill - that's actual money that has to be found and come from somewhere, even if we are PSR compliant.

So the two questions are:

1) Are we PSR compliant

2) How will we be funded, if neither Moshiri or 777 is doing it.

* I believe we are ok for cashflow for May until the end of June and some of July as we have incoming historical transfer payments and the final tranche of PL money for this season due.

Surprised to see this on BBC;

if you want to focus on the facts then these are the facts

22/23 season - turnover was £172.155 mil and operating expenses were £302.615 mil

the club is operating at a loss last season at exactly 130.46 mil before player trading

if we remove player trading from the equation then that means over the course of 3 seasons at this rate, the club will be operating at a loss of 391.38 mil

under the current rules a club cannot make a loss of over 105 mil over 3 seasons

taking into consideration the 105 mil allowance, that means we would need to recoup 286.38 mil from player sales over the course of the next 3 seasons

now are we going to make 130 mil losses every season? one would hope not and would hope that the situation does improve dramatically and our accounts will look better next season

obviously when we move into Bramley Moore we will make more money and turnover will increase and hopefully we get better sponsorship deals and turnover increases

the fact is that we are going to be in a massive hole of at least 200 mil which means we will have no choice but to sell our best players over the next 3 seasons in order to comply with the rules

The sad part is, you remove Gomes, Dele, Keane and Holgate wages from this number, and the losses reduce from 130m to 110m (before player trading).

A grand total of about 6 games worth of minutes between them.
