Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Yeah hoping this has all come from the one source (I have presumed that Joyce and Bobble gets their information from the same person)….what staggers me is when we register an interest in a person, we seem to have an almost seemingly endless interest in them….it feels at times like we don’t move on to other targets.
If we wanted him last season and he's available for the same price or less this season why wouldn't we still be interested considering we haven't filled that position still? It would be a lot more worrying if we weren't interested in him anymore it would suggest he would have been a bad signing last season if we'd cooled on him that quickly I don't know why people can't see that.

Only going off second hand information by the way but the general consensus I’ve seen from fans/commentators and posters in here is that he has had a fairly poor season and that’s in the Championship. I can understand us being interested in a 19 year old having a good season in the PL…..less so is his follow up year at a lower level has been poor. My observations was more than just about Gnonto however, there have been multiple examples of it, the one that springs to mind is (admittedly a few years ago now), when we chased Zouma all summer and it left us high and dry.

Still being interested after a bad year is a good thing because it suggests they're actually scouting him and looking at what he offers rather than just watching a youtube highlight reel of the season and being interested because it looks good. Zouma was a totally different thing they spent one summer expecting to sign him and then failed to do it thats different to trying to sign a player one year and then trying again a year later. I didn't really want us to go for him I haven't rated him that much but its definitely a good thing that we're staying interested in players rather than just going in a totally different direction for no reason.

He hasn't impressed me at all since coming to England but he's very young so it doesn't mean he wouldn't be good but i think he would cost a lot for what you would get in the short term. I know quite a lot of Leeds fans through work and they all say he's been disappointing they thought he would be too good for the championship but actually he wasn't very good at all.

I dont understand any enthusiasm for signing him, other than the maybe that is potential. The prem experience you talk of is chalked up to one goal pr 11 apperances. What i saw of him made those stats make sense, he never looked very good. 8 goals in a full championship season for one of the best teams in that league in almost 40 games is not impressive either. So why enthusiastic, unless its on the assumption that he is going to improve a lot?

Forget the games, look at the minutes played. He spend all first half of the season making cameos off the bench because he pi$sed everybody off at the club. How many goals did Gordon score for us in his early years?

Gnonto
Prem 14 starts 10 sub
1353mins /15games
2 goals + 4 assists

Championship 22 starts 17 sub
1863mins / 20.7 games
8 goals / 3 assists

Pretty impressive to go with his ball carrying and defensive stats

He’s going nuts again.

Happens every transfer window.

Leave him be and let him have his fun.

Eventually he he’ll be carted off and stuck in a convalescent home for deranged transfer window lunatics.

You surely realise that I was mentioning similar aged players to Gnonto and who i would prefer based on various factors?

Weve also been linked with a couple of them and already bid for one at least once.

Gnonto looks more exciting to watch on the wing than McNeil & Harrison...

He can actually beat a man and create something from nothing which is a trait we're completely devoid of.

Would add a good option if the price is right.
If Gnoto is one thing, he is exciting. Just does he bring enough to the table is the hope with him.
