He didnt score a goal or assist in every second game, not even close to it. You cant just multiply minutes till they reach 90 and say ‘thats one game and therefor his stats would be *insert fantasy*’. Its not. Still multiple games played. 1 goal and 2 assists pr 11 prem apperances is not good stats for anyone, no matter the age.

If a player comes on for 1minute at the end for a season of 38 games e.g take a look at Lindstrom playing something silly like 5 or 6 games worth of minutes after being signed for €30mil -- how to quantify that?

The only realistic way to simplify the numbers is total mins ÷ 90 and even then its not ideal as players starting games are in a better position to score goals imo.

Fact is that in his last 2 seasons hes almost a goal/assist every 2 games worth of minutes.

Still crazy we haven't seen any links to RB's.

Clearly no-one seems to favour Patterson, and I find inconceivable that for the 4th/5th season on the bounce we are likely going into it without a new RB which we have needed for this time.

Minutes per goal/assist is the ONLY way to fairly measure it. You can’t have someone coming on in injury time and then counting that as 1 game played! Only someone with an agenda towards a player they don’t like would use that as a stick to beat them with. Coming on as sub with 20 minutes to go is not the same as starting a game and playing the full 90, quite obviously.

"Minutes per goal" has its fair share or problems as well. Player coming on 86th minute is recorded as having played for four minutes when in fact he will have usually played for 9–10 minutes (four plus any added minutes the referee have given). So, the players that have played a great deal of their games as a sub will have better statistics as they will have actually played a lot more minutes that statistics show.

The links not long ago to Esteve at Burnley are interesting. They signed him for €12mil as per Transfermarkt. Same as Odobert their left winger.

Both in Thierry Henry's u23 side. I'd happily take both players and with them relegated there may be a double deal to be done.

Hopefully it doesn't mean either and means we instead have a decent squad to call upon. I'm hoping if Dele signs we still sign another CM so we have good options to choose from throughout the squad.

Bt harsh, it would be outstanding stats for a goalkeeper
