Imagine us selling someone like Gibbs-White, a young player after a decent season in the Championship. We’d be looking at £10m max.
You have to add in the English premium, also despite being around for a few years he is still fairly young, he was seen as a bit of a wonderkid when he first came through at 16 years old. I reckon £20m would get him and it would be well worth it 12 goals and 10 assists last season is decent whatever the level.

Not a direct example of course.

But I doubt we could get 25m for Tom Davies despite him playing well over 100 games in the Premier League.

Its an outrageous sum of money for a player Wolves have deemed surplus for the last 2 years.

I dont think we, or anybody else is going to bid that.

Id honestly go 10 upfront with at most another 5 add ons

Really? Someone who has barely had a look in in the Prem in years (and this is for a mid table side, not Chelsea or City) and spent last season in the Championship?

If we got £25m for a player like that, we’d be laughing at absolutely rinsing the buyers.

I get your point, but it's more to do with how good he was last season. He's been touted as a huge talent for years, but last year he finally delivered.

Put another way, Brennan Johnson was being discussed as a potential signing the other month with 12 months left on his deal at about £20m and I didn't see too much dissent at that.

Gibbs-White and Johnson were the two stand out players in the Championship last season. I don't think a package which totals £25m or so is totally unreasonable for him.

Fabio Carvalho - 10 goals 8 assists. 19 years old. Joined that lot for 5 million upfront fee (last year of his contract)

Morgan Gibbs-White - 11 goals 9 assists. 22 years old likely still won't get in the Wolves midfield this season, valued at 30 million with 2 years left on contract.

Anything more than 15 million overall is a joke.

I see why you'd compare but not really comparable. The fee for Carvalho was basically them being kind so they didn't take him for free.

Anything more than 12 with add ons its a drunken convo

I disagree, if we loaned a player out to the championship at his age (think Gordon if it makes it easier), he went and got double digit goals and assists and then we sold him I'd think we'd rightly be a bit upset. Now Wolves have some good players in those positions but to me this is exactly the kind of guy you take a risk on.

I would say that as long as were signing young players whose values should increase and we could sell in 12-36months at a large profit then we'll be ok.

Gallagher, Broja, Colwill and Gilmour fit that mould I think...could be wrong of course.

Nunes for over £25mil is a risk, Norgaard and Dennis we wouldnt make their fees back.

I think that somehow the DOF and Manager need to turn the squad value from e.g £250mil into £500mil over the next couple of seasons. Then continue to increase it to be in line with the top 4 or top 6 squads.

We have to do that through youth and coaching.

So far, with Lampard weve seen him do this at Derby and Chelsea so thats the type id be after.

Even if it meant a low finish next season...he needs to build a new squad and improve and develop the players.
Then why not coach OUR youth and polish OUR turds we've got....... That's what they're paid for.

That would be a Business. Just ask the RS.

When you do that. You make money and bring success. Not by speculating on younger unknowns from elsewhere in the hope they're more "trainable" or have a "higher ceiling" than those we've got....

Davies might have played more than 100 games but if you mean he played well quality wise in 100 you're nuts
