There is a big difference between cash flow and FFP. From an FFP perspective, the cost of every single player that is signed is spread over the term of his contract. As the OP suggests it would be doable if it could be spread out over 5 years, it makes no difference to FFP want the terms of the payment of cash is to the selling club. If u pay 50m cash up front or 10m a yr for 5 years, it has the same impact on FFP.
My understanding is that Everton has FFP challenges and not cash flow issues.
