Not wasting over half of the season with a manager our fan base detests who falls out with key players and had no desire to assert any form of control over any match we played would have been handy. It’s difficult to feel optimistic for next season even if we stay up tbh.
We have a terrible squad, an inexperienced manager and would appear to be in a financial quagmire.
Any potential signing would surely rather join a West Ham, Wolves, Newcastle, Villa Leicester, arguably even a Crystal Palace. Never mind the top 6.
We can’t afford any more bad decisions.
Add in a fraction more consistency with the players we have available, instead of forced chopping and changing week in/week out, and we’d be sitting far more comfortably.
Any level of competent squad building in the summer and it wouldn’t be too difficult to be back challenging in the top half of the table. (All reliant on actually staying in this division mind you)
