Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

Huh? Niasse performance in 17/18 was better than anything Doucoure has served up.

He obviously wasn't give a lot of chances because he was technically woeful and that's probably fair. We also bought Tosun who wasn't even an improvement really.

Sorry Igs, I do my best to see your POV against popular opinion here and you don't get a fair crack most of the time, but this is the most nonsense you've ever posted.

Doucoure has been far more miss than hit, but Niasse was, for my money, the single worst buy in the history of the football club as far as pound for pound value goes.

Sometimes I wonder why you even support Everton. You seem to hate everything about it. Perhaps there exists somewhere a better, happier, more productive use of your time.

(Just pick an indoor endeavor - it's hotter than all get out here in Texas right now)

Doucoure is nowhere near our worst player - either currently or ever. Now, since we are in the transfer thread I would add that it is reasonable to say that we should only be looking at players capable of challenging him for the first XI, and I sincerely hope we are doing that.
We should just get Winks in then.

I hate crap Everton. I loved guys in the past but right now we're crap, even the guys everyone wants to go crazy for are pretty average. It just kind of sucks at the minute.

That just can't be true if doing things on the pitch actually matters. Not saying it was good value at all but he did far more than nothing at far less than players who have done actually nothing.

I’m no Doucoure fan by any means, but this up there with the most turbo gash post I’ve ever seen
I mean, I loved Niasse. And statistically he had a pretty good goals per minute ratio for us. So I get that statistically, he looks allright on paper for us. But it's needs remembered that many of his goals were hilarious.

And even I will agree that doucoure is a much better player and more important to us. And I am desperately hoping we upgrade him this window.

I mean that's wrong. His goals per minute ratio was half decent. To say he is worse pound for pound than say tosun who cost twice as much and was on bigger wages is crazy.

One goal was. The rest were legitimate striker play.

Tosun, Bolasie and Gomes are 3 that have instantly been worse value for money. Niasse actually did score some important goals.

It's all relative.

Niasse, at the time, was the 2nd most expensive signing in our history

Nowhere near.

Niasse cost 13m, he may not have been good but he actually won us a couple of games.

We have had players cost twice as much and done absolutely nothing. Klaassen, Gbamin, Tosun etc.

He's probably not even in the top 10 of worst pound for pound signings. That's not a compliment to him either!
