Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

Why do some on here hero worship Lampard ?

Are they Chelsea plants ?

Benitez had a summer spend of £1.7 million, Lampard will have drastically more.

Benitez left the club in 16th, Lampard had 18 games and kept us in 16th.

I dont hero worship Benitez likewise I dont hero worship Lampard, I support both and look at each of their circumstances objectively.

If anyone accepts 16th this coming season but claimed it wasn't good enough last season then they are hypocrites imo.

I stated 10th-12th was acceptable under Benitez and it still is in my eyes under Lampard because I dont pick and choose which EFC manager I want to see succeed.

Tbf to Frank I thought the team was in free fall before he arrived. What we saw after he arrived wasn't exactly brilliant but it was slightly better than free fall. I think success this season is any campaign where we don't skirt with relegation.

Would love this to be the case. Would be a step change in maturity for elements of the fan base.

Sadly we had people calling for Frank to go before the United game and after the Palace game. There was even one wanting him gone this summer. If he hits a bad run at any point the same old edgy criticism of him not being tactically progressive or other such nonsense will be out and it will be all ‘we should have got Kovac/Potter/Bielsa when we had the chance’.

I would be overjoyed if the Everton fanbase can be reasonable with the challenges Lampard has and see there’s a lot of work ahead that probably won’t reap huge results quickly. Sadly I can’t see this happening, As soon as we’re in the bottom half there’ll be those wanting him out.
I'd be willing to accept a bottom-half finish as long as we don't go into freefall like under Benitez. Lampard needs the time to give the team an identity (style of play) that we can get behind, with young, hungry players. At least 3 seasons of continuety instead of the musical chair policy we currently have. I'm sick of sacking managers and going nowhere, stuck with even more players that the next manager has to try to get rid of.

Ask him what his previous user name was mate.
He seem's a bit delicate about it.

Do I?

Instead of being a wuss like tweedledee and tweddledum PM me nearer the time and I'll happily meet you for a bevvy prior to the Chelsea game - I'll even pick up the tab im that nice a bloke !

Chelsea won't want to sell to West Ham. They hate that club. They'd much rather keep this fella on their books and as such a loan agreement with their old mates at Everton seems a much better option. Seal the deal Frankie.
