Wasn't Davies the U21 captain? I remember he was one of the first names on the team sheet. He would of done really well in the Championship and would of done him a world of good. A bit of toughening up mentally and physically.

Would have though Lampard would have had him and Simms in as second and third choice strikers behind DCL given they were our best attacking options last season…apparently.
The loans just show that neither were or are ready for PL football, which is absolutely fine and is where they are in their development currently but there’s a reason that the majority of PL managers don’t just throw academy players with no experience straight into starting games especially when the team is in trouble. Manager after manager will nearly always utilise another senior player out of position before they go with just throwing kids out there game after game.
Hopefully this is a sweetener for Jason Knight coming to us from Derby. We are running out of time to refresh the centre of midfield.

On Saturday afternoon, Knight was a star performer for Derby in their opening day win in League One against Oxford United. However, the Dubliner did play the game as a right-back rather than his usual position in midfield.
Im surprised by that. Thought he would have been Championship level.
He's a CM mate. Filling in at right back doesn't suddenly erase the previous seasons of his career.
