If the buy back clause is £45m+ its a deal well worth doing.
Plus he'd have to want to go back. If their midfield is stacked and they want him as a squad player, chances are he'd prefer to be at the heart of our midfield starting every week. United love fancy-named foreigners too much to bring back their own 'rejects', if you will.

Not arsed about a potential buy back clause, if activated all it means is garner would have been a massive success for us and we'll no doubt make a massive profit on that
It depends on the details really. It would be very galling to do the hard yards with a player, giving him the opportunities that they wouldn't, and see him start to bloom only to have to sell him for less than his market value because of a pre-agreed clause. If the buyback clause gives plenty of room for him to improve without getting to a level where the clause would kick in then it's a different matter. Hopefully it's more of a first refusal than an actual buyback option.

Ignoring the lack of a striker that may lead to our relegation, to come out of this transfer window having fully revamped our central defence and midfield is extremely impressive. I mean, yes we will probably start Michael Keane and Tom Davies in the derby, but things are looking up!
