Yeah, Alan though would be a good back up to a new 6, sort of give the squad all round confidence in that position being in capable hands come what may.
Alan's probably getting to that stage of his career where he can still play a vital role without flogging his body all the time
Alan as back up is the type of thing that can lifts side a few positions higher over the course of the season.

Yeah I like Allan surrounded by others with mobility he is fine, but as you say he needs to be a rotation player he is getting on. Also from now on any midfielder we buy needs to have the mobility for this league that's where we have fallen down so often the key characteristic of midfield in this league are mobility, physicality and dynamism. We keep buying your Gomes, Sig, Delph, Morgan types slow slow midfielders that are more suited to slower leagues...

I just want a player to come to Everton that can have more than one quality performance a season. That needs to be addressed

Even consistency you look at West Ham and they don't have many technically better players but they're organized, robust and each player is a 7/8 pretty much every week. Our players can also be thrown off by conceding while other team's react that's character. We have a squad riddled with weak mentalities and performance issues.

We've come from behind to win several times this season though.

West Ham have a midfield that can dominate games, we don’t. That makes a massive difference.

We've got no chance with Gallagher. Gilmour I'd be happy with but we'd need more than him. We'd also need someone more powerful and physical in there.

Yes there midfield is streets ahead of ours. They have been lucky with injuries. Apart from a few at the back, they hardly had any in 2 years.

I know we can’t keep blaming injuries, but it’s been a big issue for 2/3 seasons now. I doubt any other club in the prem have had more injuries than us in that time.

Look at Leicester this season, we need better players, but we also need a season of limited disruption, do we can get some continuity.

We’ve already signed dele. De Beek will depend on his performances and of course who gets the Utd job.

I think we need two very strong midfielders who can obviously play, not sure if de Beek can do that long term. As surely by signing Dele, Lampard is only playing 2 centre mids moving forward
