I can guarantee Lampard tries Davies there in pre-season. I think he will give every player a chance and actually attempt to coach them.
I can see him giving Davies a chance or have him as a backup Allan type.
It all depends on what money and what his priorities are.
They cant do that job, we need to buy that in.

Davies in defensive midfield was an ineffective screen - only reason we'd try that again is fading memories I hope.

We do Dave, but we also need players.

Im playing devils advocate here, im not a Hary Winks fanboy.

But rumours of Gomes, Allan all potentially leaving, personally will be shocked if Dele stays, Gmblammo also could see moving on.

Leaves us very light in midfield in that case. A player like Winks, Premier League experience with a nominal loan fee, does make sense.

Of course we need some steel in that midfield, but if we want to spend money, we need to sell the 2 ballers up top and aint nobody in any hurry to throw the money at us before August. So till then, we sadly have to bulk on a budget.
In mamy ways Lampard comes in at a great time given how many he can shift out. We WILL see Richarlison go. I just hope it isn't right at the end of the window.

And next May we'll be saying whoops as we trudge off to face Blackpool and Millwall
Winks and Tarks arent bad players.

Painfully average maybe, but they arent bad.

If we want a good price, we gotta play the clock sadly Dave.

He really, really does.
Can’t pass, can’t tackle, got no strength and gets pushed around in midfield and is a quiet, shy player, not what we need. He had one good game and that was his debut when Chelsea pummelled us 4-0 and he was against gom Davies and Andre slowmes.

I never said he was a great player I said him and Winks are exactly the same type but Gilmour is cheaper.

You said they weren't the same. Guessing you've seen some parallel universe version of Winks where he's some attacking mid dynamo or something?

Winks is average and has experience, gilmour isn’t even championship level, there’s levels in quality here and Winks will be on loan probably so both similar price.
