I’ve mentioned some players I think would enhance your squad on a “Transfer thread”. They’re Scottish, the reason I’ve mentioned them is because I’ve had a good look at them over the years. I know them. I’m not gonna pick some players from abroad who I’ve seen occasionally and have a good YouTube highlights video. I’m making suggestions based on years of watching them.

Which one of these players would Gilmour replace in the England squad if he was English?

Take your pick. England played Rice and Phillips together. They’re too similar. Drop one put in Gilmour.

Gilmour nailed on for us, thought so for months. All they've needed to do was work down the list of possibles. Work on that seems to be progressing nicely.

Rice & Phillips played together as we got to the EURO 2020 final, but you’d replace one with Gilmour?

True we will probably never have the amount of good players we did in the past. But to say the cream of Scottish football is [Poor language removed], doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny does it. We are producing some good players at the moment and have done for a few years now. And there’s a few still coming through that I know. There’s also quite a few 16 and 17 year olds heading to Premiership clubs in the last few years. So it’ll be interesting to see who manages to make it.
