Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

At the same time, Brighton are widely considered the best run team around, Potter one of the best coaches, and their analytics boffins the smartest kids in the room - and as you say Maupay has been their choice of starting striker for much of the last three years.

To the naked eye yeah it does appear as simple as Brighton don’t take enough chances. But if Maupay was the whole problem or if he wasn’t making a significant contribution then there’s no way Potter and the back room numbers guys wouldn’t pick up on it.
No-one's been interested in buying him over the last 18 months and now Brighton are refusing to renew his contract. I'd say Potter and co have noticed, and are dealing with the issue as we speak.

This season is an unknown. And even if we end up relegation contenders it's still twice in 20 years! I can't stand the way our own fans put us down so much like we are some minnows of English football who've just been promoted after years in the championship.

You have no clue about the terms of the contract offer and there could be 100 reasons why he wants to move.

If it emerges that we are paying him silly money then fine, get your knickers in a twist. Until then, what's the point???
It's the transfer thread, you silly sausage.

If you don't want to discuss transfers and potential transfers, you'd best look elsewhere.

By Gray level output, do you mean going from Jan til the end of the season without scoring?

We won't be stronger by replacing Richarlison and Gordon with the likes of McNeil and Brereton Diaz, no matter what way it's shaped.
You are looking at it with simplistic views. It is not a like for like and it is doubtful we would spend the Richie money on a straight replacement or the Gordon money. The money from these is to strengthen areas of the team. You could say the richie money got us Onana & McNeil and possibly Maupay. The Gordon money could further strengthen other areas such as more dynamic midfielders and another striker. We are not cash rich for the transfer market therefore we cannot go for the top end players

Again, Lampard seems pretty adamant that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is his main striker for the foreseeable.

All good in theory, in reality he can't be relied on with all his injuries.

If we sign maupey, don't rush him back and let him recover properly and see how he gets on between now and end of the season.

He needs to step up his game though, thought he was terrible when he played last season give 1 or 2 games
