Everton Summer transfers 2021

I wonder if we aren't considering selling either DCL or Richarlison (for an appropriate fee) to give us some FFP wiggle room. It's obvious that we have huge holes in our current squad, and according to some rumors we're up against it with FFP. The two up top are probably our most sellable assets, and would allow us to address the deficiencies elsewhere. I hope that isn't the case, as I like both players.
Doesn’t ffp only comes into play if you’re in Europe. Also it may not be a thing anymore.
I think the prem have their own rules, but that also could be relaxed for a year or two, they won’t won’t teams going out of business down the lower leagues, so may won’t teams to spend who can.

I also don’t think Benitez takes the job Witt out guarantees. Also Moshiri/usmanov will know not backing him and leaving him Witt the dross that played a lot games last season. And we end up around mid table at Christmas, want help Benitez with the fans.

last summer it was going to be loans & frees if you believed certain people and we spent over 60mil we’ve already gained over 10mil in wages from Bolasie, Walcott abs besic going. And probably saving another 5 with ancelotti and his team gone. Also Madrid payed us some compensation as well

Its his MO, mate. Always weirdly positive to RS and their castoffs, and weirdly hostile and negative to anything Everton/Evertonian.

Translates to.... I rate Danny Ings as a good level PL Striker and am happy to give a Champions League winning manager in Benitez a chance before a ball has even been kicked.

I've been to more Everton games that you've had hot dinners mate.

Of course there is, but we as a fanbase need to understand that in order to run we must first be able to walk.

And I what I mean by that is if there is a player out there as good as James Rodriguez or Coutinho who is 21-27 years of age they aint coming to midtable Everton with no european football to offer.

Had we had Coutinho, Ings and Zaha in our squad last season we would have easily finished top 6 maybe higher and we could have then signed the next Coutinho who's in the prime ages and has sell on value etc.

We cant realistically go from 10th to 4th with just one type of profile/age we have to have a blend until we are attractive enough to attract the top level players in their prime years.
More than 5 years of Moshiri and this is what you've taken from it? Running before we can walk is what we try to do every season, and signing big club cast-offs are a huge part of the problem. If we don't invest in assets with resale value we're doomed.

Coutinho is finished at the top level, Ings is 28 with fitness problems that won't get better with age. How many years would you give Zaha and on what wages? More than 2-3 and we would soon enjoy the privilege of managing his decline in ability and fitness.

People said that about Rodriguez and he got what 6 goals and 8 assists or something last season?

His injury last season is a worry but if he has overcome it then he's still a good player for this level - if its true it would only be a loan move with an option to buy I see no negatives in that when we have Siggurdsson, Gomes and Delph getting game time last season in midfield.

I really dont think Coutinho is the answer

Basically flopped at his dream move to Barca so what level would his motivation be at?

He probably just wants to live near his mates from liverpool

All true and you're likely right. I was just thinking aloud about some of the rumors I've heard floating around.

Good proven PL goalscorer for £20 million

We spent £72 million trying to find one in Niasse, Tosun, Sandro & Kean.
And God knows how many millions in wasted wages.
He's fine but I did a quick search and you've mentioned him over 200 times in here. That seems like a lot to me.

What if we didn't plan to build a squad of players who can't be expected to stay fit for most games of the season? Playing in the prem at a higher intensity means Coutinho *will* get injured again and with increasing frequency due to his age.

James was worth it on the whole but if we tried to repeat a trick like that every summer we'd end becoming up what West Ham were and to some extent still are, a retirement home for fading star players.

Really? I would rather keep him as I think he had an disappointing season but I think he will be better this season, he is one of our better players. But if there is a good 60m bid I can see him going too..

No one is going to bid £60m for him.
