Everton Summer transfers 2021

He's not that young or that much of a prospect. I don't know it just seems like some of these posts are talking about him the way we talked about Stones in 2014 except Stones was 19 and brand new to first team football.
23 is young for a centre back and players develop in different ways and at different times. Jamie Vardy was playing non-league football until he was 25. You are talking nonsense

Unless for argument sake Benitez wants to go 3 at the back and thinks we are lacking a particular type of CB.

Whilst £50 million sounds a lot if its true that Dumfries has a £15 million or so release clause then £65 million for two good international players of the right age aint much anymore. Add hypothetically someone like Coutinho on loan, Romero on a free transfer and say another £20 million signing or so then its not really massive expenditure over the course of the summer.
Ings?

But Godfrey isn't playing non-league football.

All I'm saying is a normal development curve for a good player has them being good at around now. You can look at DCL for example.

I'm not even sure why I'm doing this. It was a battle against nonsense as soon as people were praising how good he was in the derby because he put in a crunching tackle when he also made mistakes that led to their three best chances. No rational thought on this one at all.

The first ingredient you need to play a high line is a manager who likes to play it. I've not seen Rafael employ that tactic too often TBF.

I think he'll want players who can do both.

Is he much better than Godfrey? I mean Godfrey looked just as good for England to me.

He'd be Godfreys partner surely...

May also be our new DM or RB.

I think 60m is probably a starting point of where some consideration would have to be given. I think he's a similar age to Lukaku when he went, so it's a useful barometer. The market may be a bit slower than that one. A lot depends on what the club want to do.

Why would Everton look to sell DCL at all for that kind of money? I cant see Benitez wanting to sell either.

Well we would have Kean and Richarlison (presuming Kean isn't sold which he could be). I'd imagine we will bring a striker in though, the fella from Switzerland maybe.

I think Benitez will love DCL mind.

Seferovic? Hes not very good and 29.

Id guess Vlahovic or someone wed not expect that Benitez fancies.

Would make no sense to sell though and go against everything the club has been saying.

We will not sell all 3 though will we?

If we sell him for over 60m, play Richarlison centrally and hope he can get back to scoring 15+ league goals a season, and use the money to spend £200m+ on other players, it's an option for consideration, no?

Where does £200mil figure come from?

I would imagine 3 at the back with the fullbacks pushed up providing the width.

Pickford

White Mina Godfrey

Dumfries Allan Doucoure Digne
---------- Coutinho ---------
Calvert-Lewin Richarlison

If the rumours were all true that would be the sort of team I would imagine.
I could live with that. We'd need some squad players too, especially up top.
