No need it’s been done a million times already

hence the post… “Balance”

when the man has money, he has gotten real quality through the door

what kind of money was Mike Ashley providing Newcastle vs Moshiri for us?
He spent over £150m in 3 seasons at newcastle as a championship and then newly promoted club. He had money to spend. Its a myth he didn't.

If the rumours are true for the players / positions Arsenal are looking to fill then it seems like theyre going to be spending £150-200mil.

That would go against what Usmanov was saying when he was a shareholder there...

...he had claimed he wanted to spend big numbers on the very top players...and Kroenke wouldnt spend.

This window, I think Moshiri needs to put his money where his mouth is....

If were not in for White, we should be...if we arent doing the Aarons deal, we should be.

Id go as far as to say this is a make or break window with the managerial appointment and also Ancelotti had alluded to us breaking FFP a couple of months ago.

Moshiri talks about competing at the top and yet our transfer record is £45mil Sigurdsson...our creative winger is £28mil Alex Iwobi.

Spend.

I mean Arsenal spent £150 in 2019/20. I thought the only reason they had some quieter years was because of the Emirates.

Why would they agree to sell at a low figure? And why would the players agent agree to a clubs “gentleman’s agreement?”

I’m sorry, but we’re in a competitive market here.

Fair point. Can't argue with this considering his agent is Raiola. Now that's a man who lacks common courtesy.

That is why I don’t completely dismiss the rumors about Rondon (loan), Coutinho (loan) and Romero (free). Certainly not advocating for any of them, but it covers three needs (2 of which are squad players, not starting XI) in a reasonable financial measure allowing us to spend on a wide player, a center mid, a right back and possibly a center half.

Those likely won’t happen, but in a certain light they aren’t crazy either.

6 or 7 in sounds wild, but if we can get some folks sold it is what is needed.
I realise loans carry fees and have to be accounted for, but I absolutely think it has to be central to our transfer strategy.

We should aim to fill our loan quota each season if the aim is to grow. Two season-long loans in the summer and leave one spot open for January if we need it.

We have to pad out the squad in addition to any full signings, in a manner that minimises risk.

Obviously you'd want a buy option but even without that, a good player for a while in a position we need help in, is better than no reinforcement at all.

The problem can be setting the bar high enough to convince us to turn a loan deal into a full contract. And a player playing for a move.

Gomes is the prime example. It was considered he did well in his first season, but I'd argue not well enough to merit buying him. That's easy to say in hindsight, but that's the sort of hard judgement some at the club are paid to make.

Good tournament performances inflate prices and reputations

Saw Dumfries being touted for us and then he had a good tourney, knew we’d get priced out

Still think James is dining out on his 2014 WC more than anything he ever did for any club

Hes got a €15m release clause in his contract apparently.
