Everton Summer transfers 2021

He plays for PSV mate. Yes, the same PSV where Brands used to work. Was a gentlemen's agreement before the Euros too much to ask for?

And what about the player?

We may of had everything boxed off but if inter have came in and its a choice between everton who came 10th and inter who've just won the title who are you signing for?

If the rumours are true for the players / positions Arsenal are looking to fill then it seems like theyre going to be spending £150-200mil.

That would go against what Usmanov was saying when he was a shareholder there...

...he had claimed he wanted to spend big numbers on the very top players...and Kroenke wouldnt spend.

This window, I think Moshiri needs to put his money where his mouth is....

If were not in for White, we should be...if we arent doing the Aarons deal, we should be.

Id go as far as to say this is a make or break window with the managerial appointment and also Ancelotti had alluded to us breaking FFP a couple of months ago.

Moshiri talks about competing at the top and yet our transfer record is £45mil Sigurdsson...our creative winger is £28mil Alex Iwobi.

Spend.

Yep. I know everyone loves a diamond in the rough, a player bought for a low fee who then turns into a world star, but there is no escaping the fact that the 6 clubs we want to try and compete with all spend huge fees on individual players.

Arsenal is currently the worst of the 6 and they have a starting forward three costing 190 million in total. Each player cost more than our record buy.

If we truly want to close the gap then we need to be buying better players and sometimes that will mean paying a big fee.

You don’t have to spend big you just have to spend better.

I think the signings individually were fine, but I find it mad that we prioritised another centre back, 2cms and a luxury player over a right back when our only actual right back was a player in his mid 30’s who suffered a career altering injury a few years ago.
Shamus was 32 , hardly pensionable, with Holgate and Kenny as cover.

the first two will have gone down significantly in value just cos of their age. The only reason you buy players at that age is if you think they will guarantee a v high performance, but I don't think we got that with them. Mixed bag. Allan had some shocking displays, and Doucoure often looked like he didn't know what to do with the ball despite his impressive energy.
Doucoure turned 28 in January, why would his value have gone down substantially?

Ajax would have been stupid to do a deal before the Euros... His price has definitely gone up after this tournament.
The more the price goes up the less attractive the deal becomes.
He certainly looked a very good player but all we saw him as was an attacking wing back.
What would he be like in a back four?

Players being bought from Holland carry a note of caution as we know.

Hopefully start to see some action in the market in the next couple of weeks.
We need outs as badly ( perhaps even more important) than we need ins.
Deals for JJK , Bernard, Kean and ( the rumoured one) for Sigurdsson should happen as quickly as possible. Delph , Gomes and Iwobi out the door would be a bonus.
Benitez has a reputation for putting in a lot of organisational work with defense and I think he will want personal in place ASAP.
If nothing else Benitez will put Brands under pressure, which is a good thing.
I remember last summer when Carlo was getting frustrated with Brands and the board, it was just after we played Blackpool in a pre season, so dont expect too much as we don't do transfers early and prepare properly like Leicester

Part of me does. He’ll want fans onside.
There's only one way he's getting all fans onside and that's being really, really successful and he will know that. I'm not sure there'd be much outrage that coleman is given a back seat. The whole fan base is unanimous in needing a new right back
