Everton Summer transfers 2021

If the rumours are true for the players / positions Arsenal are looking to fill then it seems like theyre going to be spending £150-200mil.

That would go against what Usmanov was saying when he was a shareholder there...

...he had claimed he wanted to spend big numbers on the very top players...and Kroenke wouldnt spend.

This window, I think Moshiri needs to put his money where his mouth is....

If were not in for White, we should be...if we arent doing the Aarons deal, we should be.

Id go as far as to say this is a make or break window with the managerial appointment and also Ancelotti had alluded to us breaking FFP a couple of months ago.

Moshiri talks about competing at the top and yet our transfer record is £45mil Sigurdsson...our creative winger is £28mil Alex Iwobi.

Spend.
I think he is spending a large chunk for something on the Waterfront. He has backed plenty of managers, it's time for Brands to do his Job and get players that are young, fast and hidden gems.

I said it before he signed for Leicester and I’ll say it again: I think Pérez would be decent for us.

I’ll vault myself when I’m fuming at him in a few months, save yous all a job.
Have we seriously got to the point of signing players not good enough for Leicester? He’s bang average and they wouldn’t be selling him if he wasn’t.

Thats fine...but you have to try.

White
Aarons
Bellingham
Rice
Phillips

If we pushed the boat out and 'went for it' whats the worst result -- we dont get any of them.

Whats the ideal result -- we get 3.

Its just an example of what we should be doing and the amounts we should be spending if we really are aiming to fast track into top 4 or 6.

Instead, players like Nunes and Dumfries are linked and neither of those is taking us into the top 6. No chance.
Dumfries is better than Aarons.

Rice and Phillps would cost far more than they're worth.

White, again, isn't all that.

We need to spend sensibly and smartly. Three £20m players is better for a team like us than 1 £60m player. We just need our DoF to do his job when it comes to the recruitment.

It’s not Footy Manager though mate, you don’t just click bid on 5 players and let the chips fall where they may. Time spent negotiating deals that are highly unlikely to come off is time not spent negotiating deals that CAN be done to improve us.

So to elaborate on your point, the worst that can happen is we get none of those players and no other players because we’ve been chasing our tails all window.

To be fair, I said go for Aarons and White first. Then make a play for the other 3 and hope one comes off...when they see you expanding your england contingent.

Also you dont need to sit around all summer...you can go in with a bid, they counter...etc you can put a timeframe on a deal.

if no dice then move on....but try.

What possible reason would Bellingham have for leaving Dortmund to join us though? We are trying to become what Dortmund are. Hes playing games and progressing.

Yes its a long shot but Dortmund are always open to sales.

Would he see us with Pickford, Godfrey, DCL , White* and Aarons* and think were building a top side full of England players?

Perhaps he may fancy moving back to England and showing how good he can be in the premier league...

I think we would have a better chance than a top side as we would give him regular games which is why he chose dortmund in the first place.

I hate this oversimplified kind of football maths. Jota wasn’t playing regularly for Wolves and absolutely smashed it at Liverpool.

Some players thrive better in different systems or environments than the ones they’re in.

The stadium is an asset which adds to the value of his investment.

The playing side is a separate matter...but a successful team and top stadium should go hand in hand.

We aint getting Rice.

Youre saying if we had Pickford, Godfrey, DCL and just signed White and Aarons he wouldnt look at us?

I think he would if we showed ambition in the market with White and Aarons.

We really needed Moshiri to rock up 20 years ago when £15 million got you Alan Shearer rather than Matt Targett.

We can’t really compete with the top 6 financially, we need to be clever. Young players on the up from lesser leagues every single time please.

He (and friends) has enough money to go out spend £300mil like it was a drop in the ocean.

…i don’t think we should spend big money on full backs.

Add to that, players develop at different rates and may need a specific system, as you mention, or a specific coach. Look at Vardy et al.
