I had clearly misremembered Jota’s role at Wolves, but nevertheless there have been lots of players taking big steps up and thriving, and lots who have moved sideways/down and struggled.Jota went through purple patches and was clearly talented, and in two seasons in the premier league with Wolves he played 67 games in the league alone so clearly was a regular. I know what you're saying, but the two aren't remotely comparable here. There are other players who would fit that bill, but Perez isn't one of them.
I think Pérez would mirror Richarlison in a front 3. Obviously none of the guile of James but plenty of energy to ensure Dom isn’t stuck running the channels so he can stick to what he does best.
Or he could be another in a long line of garbo signings. Exciting times!
