Everton Summer transfers 2021

Jota went through purple patches and was clearly talented, and in two seasons in the premier league with Wolves he played 67 games in the league alone so clearly was a regular. I know what you're saying, but the two aren't remotely comparable here. There are other players who would fit that bill, but Perez isn't one of them.
I had clearly misremembered Jota’s role at Wolves, but nevertheless there have been lots of players taking big steps up and thriving, and lots who have moved sideways/down and struggled.

I think Pérez would mirror Richarlison in a front 3. Obviously none of the guile of James but plenty of energy to ensure Dom isn’t stuck running the channels so he can stick to what he does best.

Or he could be another in a long line of garbo signings. Exciting times!

Dumfries is better than Aarons.

Rice and Phillps would cost far more than they're worth.

White, again, isn't all that.

We need to spend sensibly and smartly. Three £20m players is better for a team like us than 1 £60m player. We just need our DoF to do his job when it comes to the recruitment.
But 20mil players are gambles. After Sig & Richarlison, nearly every player we have bought in the last 3yrs have been in the 20/29mil bracket.

Finding 3 Godfrey’s wouid be fantastic. But Watkins cost 30mil,
Toney they’re taking 35. Buendia was 35mil and these are from the championship.

We need a 40/50 mil top class player to walk straight into this team, especially if we lose James . Either an attacking midfielder or winger

Definitely not afraid to admit that I’m worried about ending up with more Iwobi types on long contracts that we can’t shift. Would be more comfortable going for hungrier types on the way up for sure.

Urgh, Perez really is terrible, a forward who doesn't score. Classic Everton signing. We'll give him a five year contract as well.
Wowww Have you checked his stats and compared them to Iwobi and Bernard ? Perez scored 3 last season and 8 the season before. No world beater but on the right with an attacking wing back behind him then naybe

I think the one thing - aside from me liking him as a player - that would give me comfort in this scenario is that Rafael has had Pérez playing well before. It’d be like a Lidl version of the Carlo and James relationship.
