As a squad player I don’t have a problem with townsend. If, however, he’s our first choice answer to one of the most glaring problems in the swuad then we may as well accept our 8-12th trophy now

I’d loan him out, but if we’re seriously going to waste money on a donkey like Townsend( I personally think it’s rubbish) then I’d rather keep Gordon around the squad

He's better than Iwobi

That’s like saying my car on its last legs, is better than your car on its last legs.
I think iwobi is a better footballer, Townsend just has pace.

Its not just about having talented players but its about having players who have desire and commitment to the cause. Townsend is the sort who if he signed would feel privileged to be at the club and when called upon would not let us down. Unfortunately there are too many players who will let us down at the club currently.

Thats not to say Townsend isn't talented but of course he's not that type who will take us to the next level but he will offer us a decent option should any of the first teamers get injured and is a good squad option. Iwobis numbers just aren't good enough despite glimpses of ability and it feels like he can't be relied upon.

I'm not totally convinced these Townsend reports are true anyway but just giving my thoughts on it if they were.

Townsend isn't signing for us. Surely, hopefully, we've learnt from the whole Delph and Iwobi transfers.
