Everton Summer transfers 2021

We have just realigned our transfer targets/budget with these signings.

Olsen at £4/5m to Begovic on a free
Bernard on £120k a week to Townsend who will player a bit part squad player on a free.

Gray is a very interesting. For a small fee, he was the type of signing we would make under Moyes who would be a hit but he never seem to settle at Leicester and was ultimately abandoned by Rodgers.

We have struggled with pace and genuine pace which he has plus I think we are still unconvinced on Anthony Gordon who I hope will gain some experience out on loan so Gray will cover his spot something we never cover last season which ultimately led to 2 keepers and no actual subs who could make an impact.

We need to start offloading the likes of:
Iwobi, Bernard, Delph, Sigurdsson to keep the wage bill down, use the budget better.

Hopefully Dumfries comes in and our right back spot is covered and we can find a buyer for Kenny too.

If Kean is sold, then I think we will go after one of Leon Bailey or Samuel Chukwueze but I can't see anyone bar PSG or Juventus getting him for £30m+. I'd love us to keep him and sign a right winger also to give us more attacking threat but unlikely.

pretty sure moyes tried to sign gray

or someone at everton did

If we are genuinely in for someone like McNeil, then we are making a big sale.

I am very worried about DCL or Richarlison being sold and being replaced by a non-goal scoring, non-assisting wide player. This summer and this season look like an absolute disaster waiting to happen.

I've not been so frustrated with the direction of the club in my life. Give me a scouting job, give me a grand a week, and give me an FM database and I wouldn't do any worse. That's how bad this is becoming.

McNeil is like a left sided Beckham...

Not very quick but does what hes told tactically, puts the effort in and has an amazing cross.

Ideal really for DCLs head.

It's not the figures involved, it's the calibre of the players. Gray and Townsend would not be signed by the better teams in this league. They would not even be considered by sides like Villa.

I haven't lost my head, but I am disillusioned. Appointing Benitez, then going after such average players, it says a lot about the direction the club is heading. I want a little bit of hope when watching football, but I barely want to watch this side.

I said the same when signed Gueye from Villa mate.

Last season we signed Allan and James Rodriguez under King Carlo and finished 10th.

I keep saying the same thing but we have a good starting 11 we just lack 3 things:

Pace
Fight
Power

Mcneil has pace as does Gray
Dumfries has Pace and Power
Townsend has fight and hard work

Add these players in with a Coutinho/Koulibaly type of quality to the likes of DCL, James, Richarlison, Digne, Godfrey and the nucleus is there under a manager who'll demand hard work.

People forget what made us good under Moyes - it wasn't spending £70 million on players like Pepe.

McNeill has great delivery and could work with DCL. Issue is price, we’ve continuously burned ourselves with inflated prem prices and haven’t seemed to learned the lesson. Burnley well within their rights to demands lunatic money - and what if Dom gets hurt? We’re building a team around him and he doesn’t have back up. We’d need a very specific type of back up that fits with the aerial ball style. Oh god we’re signing Carroll aren’t we?

mcneil, townsend, dumfries, gray

sounds like the plan next season is to just drill as many crosses in the box for DCL to head in next season

what worries me is the lack of creativity in the middle unless he plans on switching rodriguez into central mid

If we do get Mc Neill, why do we sign Gray then ?? assuming Richarlison will still be around and change between left sided role and 2 up top. Also Mc Neill's goalscoring record is not great like Gray like Townsend FFS
