I’m 50 and I think I’m finally broke by Everton, used to look forward to the start of every season. Can’t be arsed anymore. Coming on here or Twitter to read that Davies had a good game and can still come good, even though he’s had 6 yrs and 150 games.

Or that Gomes needs more time after his injury. Or another season of watching Colman or listening to his rallying cries, I’m not sure which is actually worse.

I may leave here and Twitter and watch Everton from a far for 2yrs. And pray by the time that comes around. Most of the wasters at the club, and that includes people not on the field. Have gone and we’re finally starting to be run like a proper club. And hopefully halfway through the the ground build. And who knows maybe things will be looking up. Because I’m loosing the will to live.

After watching today. We have big issues in centre half, right back, centre mid, centre forward and Iwobi. Sort that out brands.

More frustration that unhappy. For 20yrs apart from one or two years, we never had money. It’s just so frustrating that we’ve wasted so much, Over the last few years. And are now back to signing players for 1.5 mil and Free’s. like we’ve gone back 15yrs.

Maybe the club will surprise us over the next 3 weeks, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Thanks

You would have hoped that Brands would have been planning ahead for this window and have some imaginative sales lined up...

...either swaps / loans / sales where we contribute to wages.

Alas, it looks like hes done nothing aside from sign:

1 player who failed to get promoted
1 player who was out of contract
1 player who was available last Jan

Theres no way we were after these players before Benitez was appointed...each of them only recently became available.

Looks like zero planning to me.

He's shown no example of forward planning in the three years he has been here, Zat.

I’m only 30 and pretty much done.

I disagree with this theory that FFP is set up to keep the top clubs where they are and to stop anyone else from joining the top table. That sounds more of a moan from fans as they are jealous they are not at the top. The reason the better clubs are at the top is that they are better managed and have better recruitment over a prolonged period of time. It is written many times on here that Everton recruitment is bad, 500m spent in the last 5 years, and a crazy turnover of poor managers. Where do you expect to finish with that? Villa has been a disaster for the last 10 years and that is why we are not up there. Leicester was in the Championship not that long ago and won the PL and are now consistently competing in the top 6 and it was self-destruction that stopped them from getting into the top 4 for the last 2 seasons. Man Utd was PL royalty and by far the biggest team, yet since SAF left they had dropped out of the top 4. It is only in the last couple of years under OGS that they are on the way back. Clubs the size of Everton, Villa, Leeds, Hammers etc are well capable of becoming top 4 if they have strong management and strong recruitment consistently for a good few years. It will not happen overnight as the 'elite' clubs are deservedly ahead of us.
