I can't believe that spending £1.4m hasn't sorted this turd of a team.
I know we are missing DCL, Kean, Richarlison plus "Alleged No 10" so our attacking was pretty much non-existed but we still need to address our defence which I would think Benitez would have addressed especially when we have been crying out for a right back for over 3 seasons.
I know it's "only pre-season" but I think we are a bit undercooked to start this season.

True but he has replaced Bernard and Olsen and "Alleged No 10" has no timescale when he is back if at all.
So i'd say we are in the same position but I am hoping Gray and Kean will add some additional speed to our slow attack.
If we could remove:
Gomes, Iwobi, Delph, "Alleged No 10" for examples we strengthen our wage issues but I am not hoping for a lot of transfer fees.
I think we'll have our traditional transfer deadline day scramble.

The thing is, if were 'struggling' with FFP and we elect to replace Olsen (who was rumoured to cost £5mil) with Begovic then i think thats a sensible deal.
Did we actually 'need' to replace Bernard? He was on the periphery of the squad.
We had Gordon, James, Richarlison and Iwobi to play in the wide positions. Im not sure how adding Gray and Townsend to those 3 helps us -- with the addition of circa £100k a week in unnecessary wages.
Now we have 6 wide players and only Richarlison and James with any quality.
Having said that, if the deal for Townsend was 12months then as 4th choice it may have some merit -- 2 years for him and 3 for Gray !?!?!?

We now have 12 players to move on and need 5 new signings.
Instead of targeting one of 5 weve instead added 2 into the sell column.
Both look to be Benitez signings.
Its disgraceful.
But kdb is obviously unobtainable for us. Where townsend has attributes that on paper will help the team and is obtainable for us.
You might as well be having a go at Burnley for not buying kane.

Don't get me wrong if we don't sign a starting RB I will be first on here calling for Brands head. I just see 3 players more as our max seeing we have already signed 3. They tried. It was European Super League.
They are there for squad depth and are not getting sold. Gray is in for pace, something we sorely lack. Townsend is solid cover and one of the best crossers in the league.
Keane has just signed a new contract, so he is going nowhere.
From all the rumours, think James will be going to reduce the wage bill.
I don’t thinkn Allan is going anywhere soon.
we ar3 not signing five new players. We will probably sign a right back and one other depending on Kean / Rodriguez Sales.

Keane was given a new contract when he should have been sold.
Allan should also be sold if Benitez is intending to use him and Doucoure as 2 centre mids.
We still need 5 quality players for the squad, I didnt state we would sign them.
Currently were making signings akin to a relegation favourite.
