Everton Summer transfers 2021

I think the saddest thing about all this is the esk is finally proven right about our spending. It was completely unsustainable. I think last summer they banked on us finishing in Europe with the manager and the signings, and we know how that ended. Now, we’re going back to basics and the drawing board because we’ve got no other option.

This is it really. We’ve had a go and failed.

Back to the bargain basement.

Looking at the wide positions, Richarlison won’t be available until mid September If he stays. We dont know if Gordon will be used or more likely loaned again. It seems to me that James is going as well, so it’s more like 3/4 players for 2 positions which is right. Besides which, the only one with any real pace is Gray. Even if James stays, his injury record means he can’t be relied on. He is also terrible when we are under pressure, looses the ball in terrible positions and doesn't do much defensively. So the widers are Gray, Townsend, Richarlison and Iwobi.

With Keane, you may be right, bur he isn’t going because he has been given a new contract and we certainly don’t have the money to replace him. If any CB’s leave, it’s more likely one of Mina or Holgate. Also, I don’t think we can rely on Branthwaite, he is far too raw and needs another loan.

CM is still really poor. It definitely needs improving, I think they would try and move Gomes before Allan. Allan can operate as a DM on his own. The situation on Saturday was worsened by Gbamin not being available so we couldn’t play the system we have been training. They are looking at using Iwobi centrally, but I don’t think it will work.

If Kean goes we will need another forward.

Right now I think we are looking for a right back. We are looking to move Kean, Gomes and Rodriguez on. If that happens, we will get a right back, try and get a second forward and a CM.

That is what I see us actually doing.

If you are tearing the squad up in Fantasy Football land, then I would say we need far more than five players.
Fantastic, sensible post

Everton are expected to send Portuguese goalkeeper Joao Virginia out on loan after he was left out of the squad for Saturday's pre-season friendly against Manchester United. There is interest in the 21-year-old from unnamed clubs in the Championship and abroad. (Echo)

Everton are interested in signing 26-year-old Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermosa, according to Fichajes.

The Spanish news outlet claims the central defender, who can also play at left-back, is wanted by Everton and could become Rafael Benitez’s first defensive reinforcement at the Blues after being tracked by the 61-year-old.

Aston Villa are the latest club to express interest in Everton target Joaquin Correa, according to reports. Il Messaggero suggest should Everton sign Correa, they will need to beat Villa and Leicester City.

Everton can sign CF America ace Jorge Sanchez for around $10 million (£7.2m) this summer, (according to a report from record)
That's better, some actual rumours, which is after all the topic of this thread, rather than the endless speculation about the club's finances which just goes round and round; as after all none of us know what the actual situation is.

I'd agree with this, I'd just like to see us going into games with a bit more positivity but that's the inherent issue, we don't have the players for it by and large.

The aim for us has to be to try and be competitive in at least most of our games. We didn't try to do that last season at all. 59 points was a decent haul but it was almost total anti-football.

We still badly need reinforcements and the season will be dictated by what happens between now and deadline day. I don't accept that we can't improve the squad even by signing loan players alone. If we have the finances we should try to fill our loan quota. That would be an additional three players. But it's the recruitment that's the issue time and again.

It's the best total we've had since Koemans first season. And it was anti-football because that's the squad we have. It's a squad to grind results, not to get results because of how disjointed and lacking it is in key areas.

Carlo knew that. FSW will learn that pretty quick because if not, he's not going to get anywhere.

We are more than a right back away, if and when James goes and our suspended player is unavailable we only have Iwobi to play ten who has done the square root of naff all in his time with us. We are also lacking a box to box player and back up striker if Kean goes.
isnt that what I said?

Broken clock is right at least twice a day.

Also the sun shines on a dogs arse sometimes.

If they let Richarlison go to the Olympics they should have insisted he’s back for Southampton. We pay his wages.
agree we should have agreed with him to to play the 3 games in August (or at least be available) and then not go and play for Brazil early September to take a rest

He needs a rest. We can insist, but he will be a shadow and likely pick up injuries.

If we want him to play a sensible part this season he will need some time off.
