Kean’s just going to get splinters up his backside going there when they’ve got a front three of Messi mbappe and neymar - that sort of loan arrangement wouldn’t suit anybody - his value will just depreciate if he’s not playing.

Better use to us him staying and competing for a starting place here

Zero point in adding the likes of longstaff if the plan is to get the wage bill down - u can make a reasonable argument that Townsend and gray are addressing something lacking in the squad but we don’t need another bang average CM - overladen with them

I agree mate. We don’t need to be buying cm cover when we already have cover in that position. We need first team replacements and moving the previous first team players to the bench. Would make zero sense.

Yeah the ‘good under Rafael’ bit equates to 7 or 8 games too, no more. Everything he’s done since would suggest he’s a very average player who was just in some good form. Only 15 starts last season and their midfield is mediocre on a good day.

I am shocked on how much hate Sean Longstaff is getting.

I know he isn't the Hollywood signing but he is a good Premier League player who was lined up by United for £50m not too long ago.

To be fairly honest I'd rather have him over Delph or Gomes.

Seem to remember a Spanish guy who failed at a couple of clubs and looked awful in Scotland

Became the best little Spaniard we knew. Plus a winger that failed in Dortmund and we trialed him, then signed on a perm, probably the best football I have seen since Sheedy on the left hand side

Don’t have to be fashionable, if they work

Yeah the ‘good under Rafael’ bit equates to 7 or 8 games too, no more. Everything he’s done since would suggest he’s a very average player who was just in some good form. Only 15 starts last season and their midfield is mediocre on a good day.

He had a bad injury then has not been the same since which given he is still fairly young is not a great sign tbh.

What's he going to be like in 6 months when Fat Benny has been sacked? and how many years will it take to get him off the wage bill so we can get someone competent in?

I agree with both. I was just passing on some thoughts from a Newcastle fan.

He also said after this that he is behind Willock, Shelvey and Hayden for a spot in the midfield which tells us everything we need to know about it. Up in geordie land they are hearing of a swap deal between Longshaft and Davies.
