Everton Summer transfers 2021

I am shocked on how much hate Sean Longstaff is getting.

I know he isn't the Hollywood signing but he is a good Premier League player who was lined up by United for £50m not too long ago.

To be fairly honest I'd rather have him over Delph or Gomes.
Seem to remember a Spanish guy who failed at a couple of clubs and looked awful in Scotland

Became the best little Spaniard we knew. Plus a winger that failed in Dortmund and we trialed him, then signed on a perm, probably the best football I have seen since Sheedy on the left hand side

Don’t have to be fashionable, if they work

We have got exotic and fashionable names very wrong to the tune of 500 million

Hopefully it won't be as long as that mate, one of them weird websites is saying that he is already getting frustrated at the lack of promised signings.
We'll have at least 6 months to a year of him waddling weekly to the Echo with stories about how he agrees with the fans that we need better players, but the board refuse to give him any.

If all of his last clubs are anything to go by.

You’d imagine they would have had fairly detailed discussions about transfers at one of the 200 meetings he had before he signed. Although given the level of boardroom incompetence we’ve seen over the years it wouldn’t surprise me lol

If Benitez doesn't fancy Davies, I've no issue with that. I've also no issue with him thinking Longstaff is worth a go, given his age and the form he got out of him. You'd assume the wages will be reasonably low.

We've got the likes of Gomes and Delph who are surplus to requirements though, and I'd hope this is a priority. They're the ones on big money who need shifting.

Agree but just cant see longstaff as any sort of improvement to the side i rate him lower than every cm except delph at the club

I agree with both. I was just passing on some thoughts from a Newcastle fan.

He also said after this that he is behind Willock, Shelvey and Hayden for a spot in the midfield which tells us everything we need to know about it. Up in geordie land they are hearing of a swap deal between Longshaft and Davies.

Willock scored more in his last 7 games than Gomes, Allan, Doucoure, Delph, Gbamin and Iwobi have done in their entire Everton careers combined. We could have done a lot worse than him (and probably will)

Totally agree, I don’t believe he is good enough either, but can’t get over the hate of a guy who hasn’t kicked a ball for us yet.
All because of a rumour in a crap media outlet who haven’t get anything right for years

Need to keep the blankets dry until he is holding up a shirt, and then I would get behind him as he is better than Delph and Gomez

Just spoke to a geordie horse punching bozo I am in a slack channel with. This is his thoughts;

Appears to be another one of these Benitez lazy links. Will remain calm until I see him pinging a 40 yarder into Stanley park.
I always consider the competency of fans from certain clubs when they judge players, with Newcastle being a prime example.

Haven't you realised that Evertonians are a terrible judge of player? We overhype those who have done relatively little but have a sexy sounding name and declare any player who hasn't been watched much as "[Poor language removed]" without any reason.

Then you have the types who claim to watch round the clock coverage of every world league from the Bosnian first Division to the Mongolian conference and will give you wordy, yet largely fictional appraisals on every single player that ever lived (and there's a few of these on this very forum).

Longstaff played 13 games in total under Benitez.

I am baffled by those thinking he'd be a good signing honestly. Being 'potentially' better than Davies and Delph does not mean he's good enough.
