Bollocks mate. Why replace our current crap with players that are maybe just 5% better? Our signings are so lazy, unbelievable given the money and resources we have available to us. Not even convinced Longstaff is better than Davies tbh.

I am a glass half full person, I generally can see positives in all situations. I am struggling with the current situation at Everton. Solomon Rondon and Sean Longstaff, these players aren’t Premier League standard never mind being good enough for a solid mid table club like ourselves. I understand we can’t buy enough quality players and pay them while we have the liam, the sick and the lazy bunch we have currently sucking the club dry.
The time has come were we have to be brutal, we have to sack players or release them from their contracts. I know this will be costly and will probably dictate that we bring in players who are not going to make us any better in the short term but at least we would be working towards a time when we could start to improve. We are starting to look like a club who need to be relegated before we can improve.

lot of craziness on this forum. This thread in particular.

I think it's born out of confusion. The club have been banging the drum about ambitions and getting into Europe but with the more than questionable appointment of the Spanish fella and 3 transfers that scream everything but ambition , we just don't know how serious the club were about these goals of making this club a force in the EPL.

Hope that people are re-evaluating how much of a positive influence Moyes was during his time at the club

Back when we had no money (Around 2008-09) the team that finished the 2008 season was:

Howard, Hibbert, Baines, Lescott, Yobo, Neville, Osman, Rodwell, Pienaar, Cahill, Saha

We finished 5th that season - With a team that cost (in total) less than Alex Iwobi

Pereira got offered a contract that was hard to turn down and no club outside of City and Chelsea, who wouldn’t need him, would have matched it

We are being linked because of the managers connection with Newcastle, I am surprised we are not being linked with players from China as well.

Well you forgot James, but overall you are right.
Townsend will have a couple of goals in him and Gray has looked bright. But there was 1 moment against United where he too was afraid to pull the trigger and instead played Doucoure i think in. So work in progress there too.
The only one who can/should score more goals is Sigurdsson. The names you mention dont have a goal in them.

Townsend scored once in 34 games last season. Gray also scored just once.

We still haven't addressed that problem yet. However, it shouldn't come as a surprise as we've needed a new RB for 3 years now and are still yet to sign one of them either.
