Everton Summer transfers 2021

Hypothetically thats what we should be doing. In reality the money would be given to Moshiris pick of manager each year to waste on rubbish.

I think @Neiler knocked up something about our FFP/Profit and sustainability level this summer.

Would be interesting to see what it could look like next summer.

My guess is that there are still some twists and turns this window and hope we can bring in Aarons (linked before) and McNeil.

Those two may not excite people and come for chunky fees but i think we will sell and invest. Probably just 3 players away then.

Kean goes and I reckon we will get some movement… I can see McNeil being a possibility although not what we
need.

Aarons would require a huge fee I imagine so can’t see that happening. We will end up with a sidibe type on loan again I reckon.

Maybe someone like Hudson-Odoi on loan for the season as well…

Hypothetically its not "pointless".

Leicester, Atletico and plenty of other teams have sold their top players to push themselves further up the table.

As much as we like the players, what if their replacement is better?

Weve got 5 centre backs in; Mina, Godfrey, Keane, Holgate and Branthwaite.

What if we sold 2 of them and signed a young star player for the combined fee?

What if we sold Richarlison (who i really like) and brought in 2 or 3 top young players for the same fee?
Potentially but then its Brands and Moshiri running the show so you are more likely to replace quality with crap.

So how does Man City and United spend hundreds if millions and we can't spend five?
City win things, merch sales etc, United regularly qualify for Europe and again get revenue from merch, sponsor deals and so on

We haven’t won a jot in 26 years and haven’t qualified for Europe since Koeman’s only full season in 2016/17

Any financial restraints do not work, I believed they were brought in to stop so called bigger clubs from monopolising the league but how does that work when you look at the spending of top teams now.

Stop this, we can’t do £15m for Dumfries much less £30+ for him

I wrote we would "eclipse" the £275mil.

In other words it would be far, far higher.
I'd love to know who you think we could sell to raise far, far more than £275m from our current squad.

Let's say DCL and Richy go for £75m each. So that is £150m.

What then?

Keep in mind a buying club would have to pay higher wages than we currently pay in order for a transfer to happen.

Man City get about £60m a year more in revenue a year through Champions League!
They are set up to sell players they loan out for decent fee's (Harrison, Nmecha, Angelino this year)
Another 30m or so a year for finishing high in the league and not 10th
A signing such as Grealish doesn't equate to £100m in FFP rules, its over the length of his contract, so about £16m a year
They have also just got £250k a week of the wage bill in Aguero

i'm not saying it is right, but FFP has always been set up for these teams to prosper and keep a closed shop!

Also we had our opportunity 4 years ago when we spent ridiculous money like £45million on 28 year olds etc! Infact £200m we spent in 17/18.....in terms of football inflation that's probably about £350million now! We also spent about £100million the following 2 summers, all these players wages add up!
We had our opportunity and we are paying for it now!

Since we came into money we have sold 3 players at a profit, one was Gueye, the other 2 were Lookman & Vlasic, which was only about £3million profit.
Its not sustainable, we flew to close to the sun and got our wings burned
