Everton Summer transfers 2021

Unsworth doing a great job. He’s won 2 titles don’t you know.

Being serious for a minute it looks like the 23’s are finally changing, with a lot of young players now playing regularly and a lot of the older players being moved on

The average age of our U23's squad is now bang on 18. We have 3 players who are 20, Markelo at 22 and everyone else under 20.

Why 2 years late, we still should be buying young players even now. Coleman can still play this season, he been doing well and this lad can get a few games under his belt. I know you want a ready made player to come straight in but the market and money not good for us right now. We still should be buying platers for the future.
Two years lat because we have needed a Coleman understudy for at least two years.

If he comes, then a5 least there is some story of plan. I’m ok with it.

Last Summer you asked for us to sign Hickey who’d only played 34 games for Hearts. I fail to see the difference here but please do try to enlighten me.
Maybe it was because I watched him play (as many others had and admired) and saw that he was good...as opposed to having watched this no mark at rangers and found him unexceptional...oh, and the fact that all the major clubs in Europe were looking at him and not just a clueless Everton.

….fair do’s to them, it idn’t take them long to work @davek out. That Moz98 clearly has his marbles in the right place.

Patterson is nearly 20 and Rangers aren’t in the strongest position if the lads contract is up next summer (I wonder why they didn’t give him a longer deal if he’s such a prospect). I dare say he would significantly increase his salary if he joined us, be interesting if his representatives start pushing for this to happen from their end.

(Edit; seems like he penned an extension to 2024 so Rangers are in a decent position).
Unsurprising you're obsessed with Rangers forums. Do you have a preference between Everton and them?

Isn't Patterson an up and coming talent? Don't we want more of those?
He is supposed to be and it is what I want to see us doing more of. If it happens, then great.

It has been a problem area for a few years and needs sorting. I just wish we had made a move like this a few years ago. Instead of an untried 19 year old we would have a 21 year old with some experience in top tier English football.

At least it looks like it will finally be addressed.

I'm getting the distinct feeling this is more about you and Rangers than you and this player but crack on you complete plant pot.

Even for you, this thing you have against a young prospect you've never watched is weird.
I have watched him, unlike you and others willing to throw £15M at him. He is instantly forgettable...a fact underlined by Gerrard benching him for all but a handful of occasions in an ale house league.

Chelsea are producing dozens of Premier League/Championship level professional footballers every year, players leave their academy at 18 as grown men. We have 23 year olds being loaned out to League 1 and players like Kenny who are nervous wrecks at 24 and people think our academy is performing acceptably.

They made almost 100M from academy sales this summer alone

Its a huge money machine that we are just totally missing out on

Top o the morning blues, another day, another transfer round up and at this stage it’s all getting pretty stale. It’s becoming more apparent that any business we do will get done closer to the deadline. In any case here’s today’s pickings.

Everton have had an approach for 19-year-old Scottish defender Nathan Patterson knocked back by Rangers and it is unclear if the Toffees will return with a second bid. (Liverpool Echo)

Everton have reportedly made a £5m bid for Rangers defender Nathan Patterson.

According to the Mirror, the Toffees have target the 19-year-old Scottish youngster with Rafael Benitez eager to strengthen in the right-back position.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has admitted he is unaware of a reported £5million for Nathan Patterson – but confessed he is willing to talk about any “respectable” offers for the teen.

The Mirror claim, Everton want the Scotland international to challenge Seamus Coleman at right-back as Rafael Benitez looks to bolster his squad

According to a report by Portuguese outlet Record (h/t Liverpool Echo), Sporting CP have put a €20million price tag for Everton transfer target, Matheus Nunes. The Blues have been linked with the Brazilian during the summer transfer window and the Liga NOS side would be willing to sell if their valuation is met

Everton have made a new and improved bid to sign Lazio forward Joaquin Correa.

That's according to the Mirror, via Goodison News, who are reprting that the Blues have offered £32million plus add-ons for the 27-year-old Argentina international.

The report also goes on to claims that Correa is a “key target” for Rafael Benitez and Everton are “confident” of being able to complete a deal before the transfer deadline passes on August 31.

Everton are interested in signing Chelsea centre-back Malang Sarr this summer according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio. Bologna are allegedly keen on the Blues youngster as well.

Good point this.
