I like Gray and Iwobi, I don't think either player can influence transfer policy. If the right guy is there you do it and worry about what happens to them later.

Again the wages seem to be this mythical feature. 120k. It is not astronomical. My guess is we have close to 10 players over 100k already.

Mina is probably our best pure defender. Saying one of our best players is on 120k pr week is not an argument to sign other players on that salary. Also Odoi would not be our best winger.

That's not even what the discussion is. We have a solid 10 players at or above 100k a week. We signed at least two and probably three last summer except they were all older. This isn't a number that should put us off on its own. The people in here who are going "nope, can't do it, too expensive" I think are peddling a bad argument. I'd rather see a bunch of people going "nah, he's crap."
 

Selling richarlison wouldnt be a bad thing perse. In these modern times where wingbacks do all the woek, better to have a pointman with sone able midfielders in front of first class centre backs. Given that we seem to have to wait for last day sales i bet Brands has a few names lined up to buy if the room is there. Take the richarlisson money and have Benitez make a list for Brands to do the last minute dealing.

This is just guessing but Gomes, Mina, Allan, James, Doucoure, Pickford, Digne, Iwobi, Richarlison and Delph all could be close or over that mark. I was counting Bernard and Sigurdsson as maybes but I guess that was silly and that might mean it falls short of ten but we have a lot of players on fairly big contracts.
