Everton Summer transfers 2021

That's not even what the discussion is. We have a solid 10 players at or above 100k a week. We signed at least two and probably three last summer except they were all older. This isn't a number that should put us off on its own. The people in here who are going "nope, can't do it, too expensive" I think are peddling a bad argument. I'd rather see a bunch of people going "nah, he's crap."
I disagree. Handing out big wages is one of the main reasons we’re in the mess we’re in right now. I dont dislike Hudson-Odoi as a player, but hope we dont sign him for whatever Chelski would want or the wages he would probably ask for. A loan where we pay a % would be fine as a stop gap, but Id rather we spend that money on a young player we can develop ourselves, insted of developing other clubs players and sending them back better or signing them for over the top fees on crazy salaries. Im sure theres younger players with potential we can get insted.
Hudson-Odoi has supposedly been the player to watch for a while now, yet he keeps doing nothing when playing.

Maybe, but I doubt it.
I'm almost certain Gomes and Allan are. Both came in from clubs that pay big wages for pretty sizeable fees. I can't imagine we were able to drop them off that much from what they had before. Pickford signed his right after the 2018 World Cup so I'd also bet he's got a pretty fat figure too. Richarlison similar deal.

I'm sure there are other options but as far as young players we can develop you aren't really finding much better. He's not even turned 21 yet.

Any player we do a good job with we're going to have to sell eventually so getting him on a permanent and paying him what it takes could make us a lot if it goes well.

I'm not saying the money doesn't matter. 50m and 150k a week is too much. But 30m and 120k a week? That's pretty palatable for me.

Neither of us know. I just dont think the financials at Everton could pay only 10 players nearly £60m of our annual turnover. That said, we are a bit daft these days.

He would be our best winger though.

We have that many players on those sort of wages because we have been spending beyond our means. That's not an argument for doubling down on that strategy. Our wages to turnover figures are scary, not Barca scary, but not good either. We need to get smarter in the market. CHO is a good player but it's not a smart transfer.
