Everton Summer transfers 2021

Devil's advocate - we may have known this was happening for a while, have agreed a fee etc in principle for him and have been lining up replacements, hence the interest in Cunha, Correa etc

If it solves our FFP issues and allows us to bring in 4 or 5 players, it might not necessarily be the worst idea in the world - provided we recruit well, which is obviously a massive caveat

As a general principle, I don't think we should ever be scared of selling players. It happens, we just need to plan for their departures and have replacements lined up well in advance. The Lukaku sale was a spectacular example of how not to do it.
Absolutely should be the model we follow buy, improve and sell on. No way we've been sitting knowing this though Ritchie wouldnt have been risked playing especially after playing all summer. We would easily have used excuse of resting him after his summer exploits. Keep or only sell for crazy money now - to late in window.

Let’s hope we continue to be hamstrung by FFP until we get a decent DOF in who can identify good players.
Dont think it matters who our DOF is. I think Moshiri and his annual manager pick the players. The thought of losing Ritchie and moshiri and benitez spending the funds on overaged overated crap is frightening.

What do you mean and? We are in the financial mess we’re in precisely because of buying players like Neal Maupay for £30m.

We would only sign him if Kean is sold.

Maupay would offer us more than Kean/Toshun therefore its a good deal.

The mess we are in is down to signing players who have offererd us diddly squat like Bolasie, Tosun, Klassan, Gomes, Iwobi, Kean, Delph, Benard on 120k a week etc.

BENEITZ INTEREST IN MAUPAY - BUT SCUPPERED BY FFP

Everton
boss Rafael Benitez is keen on Brighton striker Neal Maupay – but the club remain hamstrung by Financial Fair Play rules.

The Merseysiders need to sell to bring more in but are yet to find solutions for a string of first-team players including Fabian Delph, Cenk Tosun and Moise Kean.

They also have an interest in Burnley’s Dwight McNeil, but the situation remains the same at Goodison Park with less than a week left of the transfer window.

Maupay has had a good start to the season for Brighton, scoring two goals in two games, after a mixed time of it last term – and Marseille are also admirers of him.

But Brighton paid £20m for him to Brentford and he still has two years left on his contract, making it difficult for Everton to do a deal in this window.

Marcel Brands is in charge of transfers at Everton and is said to also be willing to listen to offers for the likes of Jonjo Kenny, Mason Holgate and Jarrad Branthwaite.

You know its complete xxxx.....

Brighton don't have another forward and we aint going to sell Bathwaite.
Absolute rubbish that.

It's no different than saying we're interested in Ronaldo but can't afford him.
