And you’re right in that everyone is stuffing it up at times. But we’ve done it by default. And those other teams have had money for 20+ years. We had huge wealth and threw it down the toilet. On Bolasie. Tosun. Klassen. Etc.

We did, and it's disappointing, but you could also argue as it was our first few years with money teething problems should be expected? We don't have anyone at the club with the experience of running a big club.

It's about being smart. We weren't smart. We tried to act like billy big balls and have paid the price. But we've also just made some outstandingly bad signings when we weren't trying to act like billy big balls either, and some poor managerial choices obviously (I don't think the last two fall into that category, though Benitez more because he's probably the type of manager we need to keep us safely as upper mid-table fodder in what is a period of consolidation)

I rate CHO a lot but we would have to play him consistently to get the best out of him, and I don't see how that would be possible with DCL, Richy and Gray.

When you take into account player wages we’re probably no higher than 6th in that list tbf, not defending our transfers, some have been very poor, but transfer net spend only tells half the story.
