If we’re not going to sell Richy, i assue its to be able to play him up front with DCL or in a free role. I think Grays best work for us so fars come from the left tho, so who knows. So if it’s Luiz in, Richarlison stays; is the plan to play Gray on the right?
He doesn’t have the energy to do the defensive work that a team like Everton require. I like him, but he needs to be in a system where he doesn’t have to do defensive work.I mean this happened maybe 2 or 3 times all season.
We literally have other players who can't pass forwards.
I can get the arguments against James. Lack of pace, energy and fitness. All agreed there. And for that reason he probably doesn't suit right now and given his wages we need those freed up. But it's revisionism in the extreme to suddenly say an issue was he lost the ball a lot![]()
As years go by the more you come to terms with how good Osman actually was.Davies has Osman's technique just not Osman's brain.
Both are/were slight and slow, but Osman's knew where to be and use the ball.
Never got the hate against Osman. Good player who always gave his all. Good technique and great brain for football. Only drawback was his size.Osman would walk into this team.
I’m looking forward to the next few games
Hopefully the lineup will look like this:
—————DCL—————
Luis Dias—Richy—Gray—
———Allan—Doucs———
Digne—Mina—Godfrey—???
Preferred lineup

2 caps. There was half a season that he looked like Iniesta and got an England cap.
Overall and very good, technical, player who grafted and was never injured. Reliable.
Got none of them now.

Davies has a bad habit of losing it in dangerous areas

He could pick out some great king passes, certainly. and I understand that element of creativity. However, I think the stats showed our points per game were higher without him in the team.
Once teams knew he would look for a long pass to the left, I think they worked out how to stifle him. They also crowded him until he made a mistake.
Fitness and energy are a big part of all this. The whole team including James weren’t fit enough. The biggest issue though was how much time he missed. He was never quite the same following the GBH VVD inflicted on him.
Totally agree he's stats weren't that great either but watching him he was leagues above our midfield regulars.Never got the hate against Osman. Good player who always gave his all. Good technique and great brain for football. Only drawback was his size.
