Everton Summer transfers 2021

I am not sure funds is an issue
Being allowed spend them is

We aren't loaded. We've not got tons to play with regardless of FFP. There's a lot of money being pumped into the stadium, a lot of massive wages we need to shift.

We'll have a bit, and then sales on top of that.

That has been said every year and we consistently overspent on what was predicted
I will go out on a limb here and say 80m plus sales this summer if the right players are available at the right price
We know Brands will walk away if he feels the price is too high (Iwobi being the exception that proves the rule )

I reckon we've got 30-40m freed up right now.

We can add sales on top of that. Main issue is the wages.

There's been several articles from people who get stuff from the club downplaying how much we have to spend, though, recently. Or, more like being conservative with estimations.

We aren't going to be spending £100m, let's put it that way. It'll be similar to what we spent last summer, which was more than they wanted to really but they decided to punt on Godfrey (good move) due to Holgate's injury at the time.

We might spend more if we can get good money for Kean, and top that up with Bernard, Tosun etc.

No, it has. I just wonder how easy it is to deliver this in the summer (good wide player/s) and then keep them happy over the season.

DCL and Richarlison are near ever-presents and we'll hopefully be playing a 10 for 2/3 of the season in James, plus the games Sigurdsson would play.

I just think that's a hard sell to a winger. "We've (v. possibly) got no Europe, we're probably always going to play a 2 up top and James is starting every game he's fit for. Fancy signing for Everton, lad?"

The solution to this problem is not playing a 2, which is the same grim sell, just you're making it to Richarlison rather than the new signing.

The fact we have 2 undroppable 9s and an undroppable 10 is at the root of everything I see being problematic/interesting this summer. Not saying it will actually be a problem, or that we shouldn't buy wingers, I just find it interesting.
Richarlison can play as a left sided forward. Also nobody should be an automatic pick in our team if we say that we wouldn't buy any players.

When Usmanov had the meeting with Carlo he did not tell him that money will be tight
Moshiri dropped his USM holding below 10% for a reason
Money will come in and it will be spent
If you hire Carlo Ancelotti you have to back him
Moshiri will look at last summers 4 signings and see they are all successes and first team starters (maybe not Godfrey )

We are not signing Koulibaly, for one we don't need a CB and for two he would go to a team in CL.

Midfield, right wing, right back that's what we need
Will a CL club spend 30-35m on a 30 yr old ?
PSG maybe ,no one else will in this climate
We could (wage dependent ) sell Holgate for 20m and we have improved immensely for a small net cost
Agreed we urgently need the players you mentioned ,although out and out wingers may not be on the agenda for a starting 11 if the intention is to play a diamond 4-4-2

Let me rephrase it.

We're not going to be spending £50m on one player.

We spent £60m in fees last summer, not counting wages.

It'll be similar this year, so we'll have to be similarly prudent. If we don't get Europe that will be less. But, we do have a good asset to sell in Kean and we do have lots of other high-earning tosh about to go out of the door for good, so that frees up space in the wage bill. If we can add Bernard and Tosun then happy days too, because that's about 220k p/wk saved on two players.

I doubt many players will go for 50m or above in a post pandemic world
Haarland and players of his ilk will of course be the exception
I still stand by my thinking that we will spend more than last summer so 80m plus sales as the wage bill comes right down

But Zat told me we were going to cherry-pick all the best players from Inter and Dortmund?

Are you suggesting this isn't true????????????????????????????????????

Are these the same people, who said we had no money last summer?
remember the scare mongering. Loans, free’s and swaps this summer lads.

Ancelotti will be given more than 30mil. Moshiri hasn’t brought him in, not to support him.
