Right-back.

Wide player.

Central midfielder.

In no particular order, those are your priorities.

We then need a striker but that depends on Kean and King.

Honestly I'd keep King, assuming we're selling Kean, regardless. He's a better option for the front three positions than Iwobi or Bernard - and at least one of them should be off.

Goalkeeper's the other 'problem' position but, just gonna have to wait and see how Pickford does for the rest of the season.

If we could just sell who we liked lol
I’d sell kenny, delph, Gomes, siggurdsson, iwobi,
Bernard, Tosun.

He will, that’s for certain. But £40m on a 30 year old is mad when we have so many other areas to sort.
Who ??
Koubailly
Nobody is paying 40m for Koubailly in a post pandemic world
30-35 m max and we could recoup 20m of that by selling Holgate and we would be a hell of a lot better defensively for the next 3-5 years for a net outlay of 15m
No idea of wages though

I don’t think it will happen, but he turns 30
This summer. If he had a 4 year deal that will be up when he’s 33. That’s not that old for a CB. It’s not like you’re signing a 30yr old striker.

If we signed him for 40, sold Mina for 25. As Mina has 2yrs left, so the club will need to make a decision on him soon. And we gave koulibaly the 4yr deal. Basically we could upgrade from Mina to koulibaly for 25/30mil

I’d say that’s well worth it.

Thats assuming a 30 year old Koulibaly is an improvement on Mina.

Allan was 1 of the best players in Serie A and hes spends most games for us getting legged!

I have no doubt he would improve us in the short term, but he would want a huge salary. It depends on what our summer budget is really. We absolutely have to have a new right side and more attacking nouse. The midfield is still in need of strengthening as well. CB is the area we are strongest in and have good depth. Without the other areas being addressed, a CB will not make much difference. It’s the icing on the cake.

Allan has just come off a 3 month lay off. Amd played 3 games in a week. He’s nowhere near match Sharp. Maybe he’s not lighting quick, but he’s still a very good player and was good early on this season. And actually was brilliant first 20 v Leicester in the game he got injured.

I like Mina, but kouilbaly is a serious upgrade

I like Allan.

And im fairly confident we wont spend 40/50m on a 30-year-old or any player this window.

I get what you’re saying about more important positions. But koulibaly would be a huge but for us. We still have looked soft at times this season in the heart of our defence

We or anybody else will not spend 40m on Koubailly ,
The second half of your statement I am not so sure
If the right player became available for CM I am sure Carlo would consider it ,but only for the right player

PS I see you edited your original post

We have too many holes and not enough money to drop 40m notes on somebody, IMO, time will tell and sales will as always drive ins, but for now, I think its not happening.
