That is a concern. Thought he looked semi dangerous in the past but not much output based on the stats.

Maitland-Niles on loan is infinitely better business than paying £10+ million on some 19 year old who isn't even Rangers 1st choice RB and has played less than 20 professional games.

Would lighten the load for Coleman so not a problem in my eyes.

From what I’ve seen of Maitland-Niles, I’d rather him as backup if The Duke or Allan get injured, than Delph, Gomes or Davies.

as for the RB thing, if he really hates playing that position then surely that’ll become clear and discussed with him before he signs?

He’s versatile so it wouldn’t just be RB he covers, he can cover the flanks and in midfield, in that event we have Holgate for cover at RB

Maitland-Niles on loan with an option is a risk free but with a potential big upside for us. If we didn’t have the restrictions this summer as previous, we’d have probably bought him straight up for £25m+
