It doesn't matter if he's versatile, we still haven't signed a right back but getting some versatile player is apparently what we need.

We got snubbed by one target, getting priced out for another and with P&S hanging over us clubs are going to want to sting us for big money at this late stage. It’s not ideal but getting a versatile cover in for the season will help short term then we can look at getting a longer term option when our financials look stronger

The added 'bonus' is he fills in for three positions.

The issue is we'll probably think that means him and Rondon is business done.

In all seriousness, let's say Kean and James go and Rondon and Maitland-Niles come in. It looks like Diaz is going to go to the wire but we might have left it too late.

A thoroughly underwhelming window. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with how the team are playing, but there's a distinct lack of quality as soon as you scratch the surface.

Would have to see if there's a late move for a winger/attacker, which there has to be imo.

To play devils advocate a bit, I'm not massively worried about further options. I would be quite happy with a right back from this window. The issue is, as you've stated, does he want to play fullback? If he doesn't want to play fullback at Arsenal, not sure why he would here?

Maitland-Niles can run mate, so in that sense he's a much better option.

Issue is he doesn't want to play right-back, fairly sees himself as a midfielder.

Maybe after 1 season at WBA AMN has decided RB is actually not that bad? If he wants to join as an RB then no problem IMO

….it’s possible a succession of Managers were particularly keen on having Coleman as first choice. I get many on here don’t rate him or think he’s finished but Ancelotti and now Benitez clearly rate him & even seek his counsel.

We couldn't afford Dumfries. We didn't get 'snubbed' by him, we had terms agreed with him, just couldn't match PSV's fee and then Inter came in. It's not exactly the same thing.
