I'm encouraged by the start but until it's December and the performances are still strong I'm not expecting Europe.

I'm not expecting Europe. I'm expecting us to be in the mix for it. It's the least Everton should expect. It's also what the club's target is and has been for the last five years.

I agree but the way this club has been run it wouldn't surprise. Personally I would keep him. He will want to play some games and he still has the magic.

I'm not expecting Europe. I'm expecting us to be in the mix for it. It's the least Everton should expect.

If you're in the mix than there's a decent chance you get it. I don't think there is yet.

As I said I'm encouraged and I think our way of playing this year is more sustainable than last year's. But last year happened so I'm going to need Everton to keep it up awhile before I jump onboard the we can sneak 6th bandwagon.

The other thing is I think signings or not you've got seven teams I favor over us still. I just want this year to be fun at this point.

Covid aside, this transfer window is a mess for all but we are master of OUR own destiny in this but really who should we be pointing the finger at?

Some of it is down to Brands, certainly. But far from all

There's a few players at Everton who I see as absolute lost causes - Delph, Tosun etc

Gomes though - I was sort of vaguely hopeful that he might benefit from the change in manager as there have been moments with him now and again, particularly pre-injury, where he's shone. Still, if Benitez has seen enough and thinks he's expendable, I can live with it.

You havnt even mentioned our two highest paid players havnt played for us this season and it’s highly likely neither of them will again yet will both be here till next summer

So JR could be gone by 23:00 and Bernard £120K doesn't play for us anymore, Mina, Gomes, Pickford have all played and will continue to do so. Unless you are talking about Sigurdsson, he is suspended so he is either not getting paid or his salary is significantly reduced, either way, he is never going to play for Everton again. Also, there might be insurance to cover the loss Everton have suffered, I don't know if such a thing exists but possible and would make sense.

If JR does stay he will play and you are naive to think that he wouldn't.
