There's a few players at Everton who I see as absolute lost causes - Delph, Tosun etc

Gomes though - I was sort of vaguely hopeful that he might benefit from the change in manager as there have been moments with him now and again, particularly pre-injury, where he's shone. Still, if Benitez has seen enough and thinks he's expendable, I can live with it.

I can live with it, but we need a replacement. Same with James with Siggy also being out. We have a very thin squad as last weekend proved.

Looks like James staying so we will end up with Rondon and AMN (or another RB last minute loan)

If I was to have a wager on how the window will unfold from here, this is exactly what I think will happen. (Plus the loaning of Nkounkou)

I’d be ver underwhelmed if this does end up being the case.

Do we? Benitez seems to want to play something like a 4231/442 depending on personnel and who we are playing

In either case that's 2 centre mids we are using - we currently have 6 senior ones on the books plus the highly rated Onyango coming back from injury shortly. I think we can probably afford to lose one (I was just hoping it would be Delph).

So JR could be gone by 23:00 and Bernard £120K doesn't play for us anymore, Mina, Gomes, Pickford have all played and will continue to do so. Unless you are talking about Sigurdsson, he is suspended so he is either not getting paid or his salary is significantly reduced, either way, he is never going to play for Everton again. Also, there might be insurance to cover the loss Everton have suffered, I don't know if such a thing exists but possible and would make sense.

If JR does stay he will play and you are naive to think that he wouldn't.
