I said the other day there are some great players down there and i would be quite happy if we signed 2 or 3 of the better ones, for me someone like Olise at Reading is just a no brainer if that £8m release fee is true. Even if it did'nt work out for some reason we would still be able to move him on as he is only 19 but i actually think he could be that 3rd man in midfield moving between mid and attack.

For some reason I get the feeling we think we are better than spending pittance on some championship kid and would rather pay £30m for some 'name' in another league. But we are far from it, these young hungry players with something to prove should be the targets. As you say even if he doesnt make it, that £8mill is recouped - if he does then it makes the club ££. No brainer, but I doubt we will even look at him which is sad really

Players with a low release clause always come down to a bidding war over personal terms and quality of life. This is why Chelsea gets a lot of those at the top end - deep pockets, London and regular CL.

I doubt that it's so much that we're looking for names as that we haven't had the regular European football on offer - it's how we lost Hojbjerg to Spurs.

The reality is that we're going to have to pay market value for most ready-to-play purchases, and if we want bargains then we're going to have to figure out how to develop very young players, which is not Carlo's forte.

Neto maybe. Traore I'm just not convinced about. Is Neves a step up on what we have. He's a good passer but terribly slow when we are crying out for more dynamism.
I think Traore fits what we need to a t, but I know others will disagree and say something about end product even though most wingers in this league don’t put up huge numbers.
