Everton Summer transfers 2021

Played it a lot over the last 10 or so games. You obviously know him better than me, but he’s averaging a goal every 2.2 games over 6
Seasons playing for a
Mid table side that actually have been fighting relegation for the last 2 seasons
He also has over 30 caps for Italy

DCL averages a goal every 3.6 games. And I know you will say, his first few seasons he was on the wing at times. The last 2 seasons he’s averaging a goal every 2.3 games.

The fact we could get this lad for less than what we paid for Tosun. Who else could we realistically attract, who will be happy to fight for his place and be on the bench at times.

I’ve said before that maybe we won’t go for a number 9. And go for more of a Richarlison type, who can play across the front.

But as an out and out number 9 I don’t see many better options, who’s scored goals in a top league, and has experience. We could go for another youngster, but like kean, there’s always a risk attached to that type of transfer.
You take out the outlier season where he scored 26 or whatever and he's just not that good. And I think that isn't unreasonable to do since he hasn't come within 10 goals of that number in any other year.

16 & 15 are still good goal returns in the league though since 26 is very high. Not saying I want him but think you're being a bit disrespectful to the numbers.

Andrea Belotti

League: 90 goals in 200 games
Overall: 103 goals in 218 games

Italy: 11goals in 32 games

Sale price = €23mil.

@TheBigIguana it doesnt seem like youve seen him play if youre comparing him to Darren Bent.

I first watched Bent in Ipswich youth team...i know all about him. Dont see the comparison.
20 league goals are penalties.

In the last three seasons he's scored 14 of his 41 goals from the spot. If we aren't putting him on penalties he scored once every 230 minutes.

So I guess what we need to ask is how bad do we need a good penalty taker?

I just made a post about it and the problem for me is he's had so many penalties to boost that. If we aren't putting him on pens he's not hitting 15 aside from that one very out of character year. One year he had 15 total and 7 from the spot.

Goal's a goal. Hardly like Gylfi is gonna be playing much next season hopefully so someone has to take pens.

That's fine, if we want to pay 25m or whatever they're saying for a guy who will score 8-10 plus maybe 3 or 4 from the max 5 penalties we get go for it. I wouldn't.

Worth it

I know it's all a bit fantasy but...
If we could somehow work a deal with juve which sees us replace kean with dybala.....
The lad can play right side of a 3, and can also drop into a 10...
He'd be a major statement of intent...
Also he's young enough to know if it doesn't work out here there's plenty of top sides that would still take him
I think Kean has his heart set on PSG

I’ve seen names like winks & ward prowse mentioned. Both not fir me like. But I see how some people want this play maker mixed in the middle of the midfield we have.

Maybe in the system you talk about 433. But then what do you do with James when he’s fit, because I can’t see ancelotti going with a 4231 with James in the 10. And a play maker alongside one of Allan or Doucoure. That’s to open for ancelotti IMO.

I wonder if this summer he goes and gets a specialist number 6. Allan can play there, but I think he’s more suited to get up the pitch and trying to win the ball high. Gbamin has played there before. And maybe that’s his best position, but to many questions over him at the minute. And in his last season at Mainz he was more box to box.

I would go for bissouma, but he could be very pricey. Watched him v Man Utd last week, he’s everything Tom Davies isn’t. Strong, fast, aggressive. And hardly miss places a pass.

A cheaper option, Kamara Marseille. Only 20 but been getting rave reviews.

Having that specialist number 6 would allow us to play 433, 4231, a diamond. I know some of you will say we still lack a quality playmaker, but with James and another hopefully excellent attackers added. Plus a RB. I think that would do us next season.

It would also give Doucoure a bit more freedom to get in the box more, which would be a huge help. As he’s hard to stop in full flight. And he should be getting 7+ goals a season.
If you subscribe to the Athletic there is a very good article on Gbamin
He played mainly as a 6 but his pace and power allowed him to carry the ball forward from deep in his own half to well into the opposition half
His ability to switch play with long diagonal balls from the No 6 position was also a strength of his
If and I said IF he turns out to be the player we thought we signed he will be a valuable addition to the squad
The Athletic is well worth the Euro a MONTH for the subscription

Davy Klaassen has 9 goals and 2 assists in 22 games this season in the Dutch league. Absolutely swerve any player from that farmers league.. and that includes Van de Beek.
No doubt there are players to swerve coming out of Eredivisie.
And especially of the Klassen and Van de Beek generation when the youth system had lost its way.
And there's guys like Koopmeiners who is highly rated but not suited to PL.
But over the next decade there'll be a raft of players coming through.
Its started with Frenkie De Jong and De ligt.
The likes of Ryan Gravenbach, Calving Stengs and Sven Botman coming through are going to the biggest clubs.
But there are others. Brobbey just signed for Leipzig, why couldn't we have got him?
Joey Veerman should be someone on our radar.
In fact we should really be looking at the Eredivisie for younger players pushing the starting XI players
like Harroui, Gakpo, Kadioglu, Reis, Kudus, Rensch and many others.
There are weaknesses in the Dutch league, there are also diamonds at a good price if you know where to look.
