Everton Summer transfers 2021

I think the best you can hope for is to find someone who can be as good. Meaning there is certainly a 20 year old who by 23 will be doing what he does even if it isn't next season, and yes we won't find that player.

We might find him, but we won't play him if we buy him. Like a lot of elite, well-traveled managers, Carlo is bad about playing the kids.

Reality right now is that our recruitment is likely to be established players and on some we'll probably cut corners a bit on fees, so that we can get enough baseline depth in.

I know it's all a bit fantasy but...
If we could somehow work a deal with juve which sees us replace kean with dybala.....
The lad can play right side of a 3, and can also drop into a 10...
He'd be a major statement of intent...
Also he's young enough to know if it doesn't work out here there's plenty of top sides that would still take him

I think we should try really hard to not be playing a 4-2-3-1 with Allan and Doucoure.

Also I like Neto, but I don't know if I like him to the tune of whatever outrageous price Wolves will want.
Hence my saying in each post I've made on this topic that we need a genuine, bona fide #1 CM as part of this summer's recruitment. It's the hardest position to fill IMHO.

Meanwhile, Allan and Doucoure are the two best CMs at the club at the moment. When fit, they both start regardless of the formation. If we do find a marquee CM this summer, Allan and Doucoure will still both make 30 starts next season because I reckon we'll play a lot of 433.

We've played two up top very sparingly, if there was a commitment to it sure, but there hasn't been.

And DCL even in his dry spells is a better player. Italian Darren Bent, a good season that makes everyone believe he's good still after 4 average ones.
Played it a lot over the last 10 or so games. You obviously know him better than me, but he’s averaging a goal every 2.2 games over 6
Seasons playing for a
Mid table side that actually have been fighting relegation for the last 2 seasons
He also has over 30 caps for Italy

DCL averages a goal every 3.6 games. And I know you will say, his first few seasons he was on the wing at times. The last 2 seasons he’s averaging a goal every 2.3 games.

The fact we could get this lad for less than what we paid for Tosun. Who else could we realistically attract, who will be happy to fight for his place and be on the bench at times.

I’ve said before that maybe we won’t go for a number 9. And go for more of a Richarlison type, who can play across the front.

But as an out and out number 9 I don’t see many better options, who’s scored goals in a top league, and has experience. We could go for another youngster, but like kean, there’s always a risk attached to that type of transfer.

I’ve seen names like winks & ward prowse mentioned. Both not fir me like. But I see how some people want this play maker mixed in the middle of the midfield we have.

Maybe in the system you talk about 433. But then what do you do with James when he’s fit, because I can’t see ancelotti going with a 4231 with James in the 10. And a play maker alongside one of Allan or Doucoure. That’s to open for ancelotti IMO.

I wonder if this summer he goes and gets a specialist number 6. Allan can play there, but I think he’s more suited to get up the pitch and trying to win the ball high. Gbamin has played there before. And maybe that’s his best position, but to many questions over him at the minute. And in his last season at Mainz he was more box to box.

I would go for bissouma, but he could be very pricey. Watched him v Man Utd last week, he’s everything Tom Davies isn’t. Strong, fast, aggressive. And hardly miss places a pass.

A cheaper option, Kamara Marseille. Only 20 but been getting rave reviews.

Having that specialist number 6 would allow us to play 433, 4231, a diamond. I know some of you will say we still lack a quality playmaker, but with James and another hopefully excellent attackers added. Plus a RB. I think that would do us next season.

It would also give Doucoure a bit more freedom to get in the box more, which would be a huge help. As he’s hard to stop in full flight. And he should be getting 7+ goals a season.

Andrea Belotti

League: 90 goals in 200 games
Overall: 103 goals in 218 games

Italy: 11goals in 32 games

Sale price = €23mil.

@TheBigIguana it doesnt seem like youve seen him play if youre comparing him to Darren Bent.

I first watched Bent in Ipswich youth team...i know all about him. Dont see the comparison.

Kamara is class and only has 1 year on his contract at Marseille who are short of money.

Rapid, can pass, tackle, versatile, leadership...and still only 21.

For the price of Bissouma you could probably get Kessie from Milan who also only has 1 year on his contract.

Who would you prefer, Kessie or Bissouma?

I haven’t seen enough of kessie, but Is he actually a holding midfielder?

Donny van der beek on loan in the summer?

Man Utd won’t sell so soon but he’s obviously not getting a he game time that he wants and I’m guessing he can’t be happy at the moment
He seems to be a number 10. We have a few of them. I’m not sure he can play in midfield as a 2
