Everton Summer transfers 2021

I’m in no hurry to sell, and you make a fair point.

I don’t think he will ever be an elite striker. He is a very good one though and would be very difficult for us to replace. I doubt Utd would be as patient with him during the non scoring periods as we have been.

I guess it would come down to whether we want to boost the summer transfer budget and who is available that we could to get to replace him.
Again I've just got to point to him being close to elite this season in a bad creative side as evidence otherwise. He's tied for second in the league on non-penalty goals. That's really good when we haven't done any attacking since October. He wouldn't have those spells at United.

And I know people will tell me I should count penalties but I'm not because the only reason DCL doesn't score them is we choose to have others take them and not because he can't.

On the one hand, £80m would be great business for a somewhat limited player like Calvert-Lewin, but then I don't have enough faith in the club's recruitment to be confident that he'd be replaced by someone as good or better.

Well not any replacement. No more so than any other signing anyway. Again, I wouldn't be actively seeking to sell him or anything, but at that price I certainly wouldn't be dismissing it out of hand.

With DCL perhaps the fee somewhat matches his ability. But hes someone who improves every season and is just 24.

In two years time he may have gone up 2 more levels and then youve got a major player on your hands.

Hes rarely injured, his attitude is fantastic and thats worth something.

I dont think hes sellable.

So we have now moved on from buying CBs we don't need and are now switching to replacing 1 of our only good players.

Just another day.

Are you back to Michael Keane being world class ?

When will Man Utd lodge an £80mil bid for him to partner Maguire ?

How is he limited?

Baffling comment, he has all the attributes of a top Striker.

He has a lot of the attributes required to be a top striker but currently lacks the most important one, being a natural finisher, for example you’re never going to see him strike the ball the way Ageuero, Haaland consistently do..
it’s just not in his skill set.

So he can't finish as good as 2 of the best Strikers in the world.

I mean that's not really how it works but OK. I can't really stress enough here, I don't want us to sell him, but I think a bid of £80m would be worth considering. Everyone has a price, and for me (who obviously has absolutely no say over it and is just giving his opinion on the internet) that would be very much approaching his. As I've also said though, I would probably eventually decide to keep him, simply because I have no faith in our ability to replace him properly.

If he's so easy to replace, why don't United just buy THAT player instead?
