Haha, most definitely not. It's not a slight on him, I like him, but the same would go for Richarlison too. I'm just not sure that i'd value them at that sort of level personally. The issue would obviously be replacing them. If we had a good track record at that it would be fine, but we don't so I'd be a bit apprehensive on that basis.

Why do they have to be under 25? There's loads of good strikers out there. I'd take martial over Calvert lewin.

To sell a player for a high fee you really should be looking at then signing 2 players who are younger and have far more potential.

Or at least a younger player who is better or has world class potential.

Otherwise you just sell players for short term gain which never works.

His best season certainly, but a pretty long barren spell. He has had chances, but not converted. By not prolific, I suppose I mean we have seen lack of composers in one on ones etc. The goals dry up when the service is poor and he is never one to make something out of nothing.

I’m in no hurry to move him on, but £80m would probably be the biggest transfer this summer.

Watkins went for £28-33mil and is older...not as good and they surely wouldnt sell for under £50 or £60mil.

Any replacement would be a real gamble.

I think more than any other player I would be absolutely gutted if we lost DCL.

Watching his progression has been a joy and he is such a level-headed and mature footballer.

With better players around him next season, I can see him scoring more.

Well not any replacement. No more so than any other signing anyway. Again, I wouldn't be actively seeking to sell him or anything, but at that price I certainly wouldn't be dismissing it out of hand.

My list is at most 4 names of players at this moment.

I’m in no hurry to sell, and you make a fair point.

I don’t think he will ever be an elite striker. He is a very good one though and would be very difficult for us to replace. I doubt Utd would be as patient with him during the non scoring periods as we have been.

I guess it would come down to whether we want to boost the summer transfer budget and who is available that we could to get to replace him.
